Can manually added emails receive automatic discount codes?

Is it possible?

I have my campaign set up with an automated e-mail sent to those who sign up via my website to receive a discount code (I use a third party app for pop-ups). However, I do a lot of in-person craft events and I'm going to make my first attempt in collecting e-mails in-person. When adding them manually, how can I trigger the automated "welcome" e-mail for them to receive the discount code I've set up for new subscribers? Or am I better off just scheduling a new marketing campaign for those addresses once I've registered them all?

I hope I make sense, this is new for me. Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hi @doozieandbloom ,

Hi,
This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App. Based on your question, I have some recommendation for you.

Yes, it is possible to trigger the automated "welcome" email for manually added email addresses in Shopify.

One way to do this is to use Shopify's built-in customer management system. When you manually add an email address, you can also tag the customer with a specific tag that indicates they signed up in-person. Then, you can set up a Shopify automation to send the "welcome" email to customers with that tag.

Another option is to use a third-party email marketing app that integrates with Shopify, such as Klaviyo or Omnisend. These apps allow you to create segmented lists based on specific criteria, such as how the customer signed up. You can then create a specific email flow for customers who signed up in-person, and trigger it manually or automatically when you add their email to the segmented list.

In terms of Shopify tools, the "Customer" section of your Shopify dashboard is where you can manage customer information and add new customers manually. To tag customers, you can click on their name to view their details and then add a tag in the "Tags" section.

Overall, it's recommended to set up a separate marketing campaign for customers who signed up in-person, rather than including them in your existing campaign. This allows you to tailor your messaging and offers specifically for that group, which can lead to more engagement and conversions.

I hope this answer will be helpful to you
