Can someone explain the 2% transaction fee in the basic plan?

You have different plans for setting up store. for example Rs. 1499 Basic plan, but there is transaction fees of 2%.

 

Can you please explain if this is the payment gateway fees or something else?

 

If we have our own payment gateway? do this fees gets waived-off?

 

Please respond asap.

Great question!

 

Third party transaction fees apply to all third-party and alternate payment gateways (excluding PayPal and manual payments) even if Shopify Payments is enabled. Transaction fees pay for the cost, maintenance, and upkeep of our integrations with 3rd party payment providers. You can learn more about transaction fees in our help center here.



 

When using Shopify Payments, there are no transaction fees on orders placed through Shopify Payments, PayPal or manual payments. Can you please explain what you mean by own payment gateway?

We are providing canteen services accross multiple office location...The transaction fees will impact the vendors margin and it will be difficult to sustain the business.  We will be having at least 50,000 employees using this facility across multiple stores at multiple location.  We are planning to create our own UI...however the backend(APIs) will be shopify. it will be helpful if you can call me at 91 9860777553, so we can have some discussion around this?  I am keen in getting shopify as our backend.

Are you talking about a preloaded card system here that some users would have in let's say a canteen to pay for food and such? This would entirely depend on what gateway you are using and how you're processing those payments.

 

If it's a manual thing you're doing externally, you would have to understand and set that up on your side. However, if it's something that's automating payments via a Shopify gateway/third party gateway, fees will likely incur here. It might be worth your while speaking with a Shopify expert here, as they might be able to provide advice on what exactly you're looking to achieve. Shopify Experts can carry out custom jobs for your store like this.

If we use wallet points to deduct the points based on the purchase? For example let's say each user will be given 2000 wallet points and upon a purchase of 100 points his balance will be updated to 1900. in this case will there be transaction fees?
