Can't link Facebook Page to Ad Account

I'm trying to add my Facebook ad account to my Shopify account but whenever I click my profile and say connect it says "This Business Manager couldn’t add the Page you selected because it’s linked to an Instagram account. Another Business Manager owns the linked Instagram account." 

I don't understand why it won't let me connect my profiles. I have an instagram account to advertise my shopify store, it makes no sense.

I can see how this would be confusing. I'm happy to provide some insight here on the reason this is happening. This error will appear because the Instagram account that is linked to the Facebook page is showing that it is owned by another business manager than the one connected in your Shopify admin.

To resolve this, you can go into your Facebook Business Manager and then remove the Instagram account that's linked with the Facebook Page that you are trying to connect from any other business managers and then make sure it is connected to the business manager that is connected inside your admin. 

I did some digging and it looks like you can follow Facebook's guidelines on disconnecting/connecting your Facebook Page to your Instagram account, here: Connect a Page.

Just to confirm, are you looking to sell products on Facebook, or are you looking to create Facebook marketing campaigns through the admin?

Hi I followed the steps but still giving me this message

This Instagram account can't be removed because it's already linked to an Instagram business profile. To remove it from current Business Manager, claim this Instagram account from another Business Manager or go to Instagram and convert to a personal account.

What can I do?

Thanks for joining! I appreciate you providing the error message that you're receiving. This looks like it was from the Shopify admin. 

I recommend following the second suggestion to switch your Instagram account to a personal account, and then back to a business account.

You can follow the steps listed on Instagram's help page here: Switch back to a personal account on Instagram. 

Another option I've heard that works for some merchants is to change your Business Category on your Instagram business profile. Check out Instagram's help center for the steps, here: Edit your business information.

I did all that thank you, now the right facebook page is connected to shopify. ONLY.... I can no longer change my Instagram account to a businnes profile and that is very annoying because I can no longer plan message fot fb and insta at the same time.

DO you know of this problem ?? What can I do about it ??

cool this worked. i took my IG and made it a personal account, then set up the pixel then made the IG account business again. VERY ANNOYING. lol
