Hi all,
I wanted to get clarification on how Shopify handles cancelled / refunded orders with respect to the Google pixel as installed via the Shopify app.
When an order is refunded / cancelled, is this data sent to the pixel in order to adjust the conversion and revenue values to zero for that order?
Or does the pixel simply fire at the point of purchase and record the data permanently with no adjustments for subsequent cancelled / refunded orders?
Thanks
James
Dear @jnellers1
From what I know, Shopify doesn't automatically adjust Google Pixel data for canceled or refunded orders.
Because of this limitation, you should regularly analyze your sales data in Shopify and compare it with the data in Google Analytics. This will give you a more precise picture of your actual performance after accounting for refunds and cancellations.
I hope that this helps!
