Changing products into variants with DSL Charlotte theme

I didn't think this was going to be so hard. Everybody has swatches or buttons on their storefront, right? My problem starts before this. My supplier sent me products in the fashion of ss-white, ss-black, ss-gray or ss white-right, ss-black-right, ss white-left, ss black-left. Ss could be anything, but you can see these are all broken down by assorted colors, and some with a Style. If these products had a parent, they could be the variants, so they can be used to have workable swatches or buttons on the storefront so the color and style can be chosen. I've heard everything for a solution, from making the parent from the 1st variant to all the images, must be the same size; I need an app; it can't be done. I'm getting tired of replacing images and descriptions. I need to know if, for some reason, this can't be done. My theme is DSL Charlotte. I appreciate any help.
