Started a campaign with Google Ads. Now google says it generated about 100 clicks, but Shopify only registered 14 of them. How can this be? The information is totally different.

There are a few possible reasons why the number of clicks reported by Google Ads and the number of clicks recorded by Shopify might differ:

  1. Tracking issues: It is possible that there are issues with the tracking code on your website that are causing clicks to be missed or not recorded properly. You can check the tracking code to make sure it is correctly installed and functioning properly.

  2. Ad blocking software: Some users may have ad blocking software installed on their devices, which can prevent ads from being served or recorded properly. This could contribute to the discrepancy in the click counts.

  3. User behavior: It is also possible that users are clicking on your ads but not completing the desired action (such as making a purchase). This could be due to a variety of factors, including a poorly designed landing page or lack of relevance to the user's interests.

To troubleshoot these issues, you may want to try the following:

  1. Check the tracking code on your website to ensure that it is correctly installed and functioning properly.

  2. Debug your ad. https://wpadvancedads.com/debug-google-ad-manager/
  3. Review the user experience on your website, including the design and content of your landing pages, to ensure that it is optimized for conversions.

  4. Consider using A/B testing to experiment with different variations of your ads and landing pages to see what works best.

By addressing these issues and continually testing and optimizing your campaigns, you should be able to improve the performance of your Google Ads and get better results.

There are several steps you can take to troubleshoot tracking issues with Google Ads:

  1. Check the tracking code: Make sure that the tracking code is correctly installed on all pages of your website and that it is functioning properly. You can use the Google Tag Assistant Chrome extension to check the tracking code and see if there are any errors or issues.

  2. Check the tracking settings in your Google Ads account: Go to the "Tools & Settings" menu, then click on the "Measurement" tab. From there, you can check the tracking settings to make sure they are set up correctly.

  3. Check for any errors in your tracking data: Go to the "Measurement" tab in your Google Ads account, then click on the "Conversions" link. From there, you can see if there are any errors in your tracking data, such as missing or incomplete conversions.

  4. Check for any filters or segments that may be affecting your tracking data: Go to the "Measurement" tab in your Google Ads account, then click on the "Segments" link. From there, you can check for any filters or segments that may be affecting your tracking data.

  5. Check for any third-party tracking issues: If you are using a third-party tracking solution, such as Google Analytics, make sure that it is correctly installed and configured.

  6. Check for any server or hosting issues: If you are experiencing tracking issues, it is possible that there may be issues with your server or hosting environment that are causing problems with your tracking code.

  7. Reach out to Google Ads support: If you are unable to resolve the tracking issue on your own, you can reach out to Google Ads support for help. They may be able to provide additional guidance and assistance in troubleshooting the issue.
