I have been building out my store for roughly 2 months now.

I believe it looks relatively good, and has the potential to drive sales. I have had multiple add to carts, but no sales yet.

Curious as to where I could improve.

The site is odoasis.com

I’d love to hear what an expert thinks on it.

Hi there,

I reviewed your store, odoasis.com. Ensure your homepage clearly communicates your offerings and optimize navigation and product pages with detailed descriptions and customer reviews. Simplify the checkout process, add trust signals, and ensure mobile optimization. Use email capture, abandoned cart emails, social proof, and live chat to engage customers. Analyze traffic with Google Analytics, run A/B tests, and offer promotions. Continuously gather feedback and update your site based on insights.

Hi Josh,

Nice work on building out your store. Looks great. One thing I found was that the body text was difficult to read. I think that font could be good for headings but tricky to read and understand in regular text.

I appreciate your help Ciarán. I went and changed the body text, and believe it is a much easier read now.

This is a great response. I will go through and implement many of these today, and the over the next couple days, ensuring they are optimized correctly.

Hi @JoshSvarplaitis ,

I am from Mageplaza - Shopify solution expert.

I would be happy to review your website and provide feedback on the performance.

Overall, your store is quite well set up. The information about your store, products support policy, live chat, review section is very comprehensive and clear, which will address any concerns customers might have. It would be beneficial to regularly update these sections to reflect any new policies or information.

Here are several recommendations to improve your conversion rate.

1. Improving the speed and performance on Mobile and desktop.

  • I checked your website performance on PageSpeed Insights - a Google tool that measures the website performance and found that scores on mobile, where a high number of the traffic is coming from, is around 3x - pretty low while the performance score on mobile should ideally be above 6x.
  • Also, on the desktop , the score is just around 6x while the expected score should be above 8x.

  • Slow loading speeds affect various aspects related to user behavior and business outcomes, ultimately leading to lower conversion rates. Here is some suggestion:
  • For Shopify stores, the following are several factors that impact website performance
    • Store theme
    • The apps installed
    • Any additional third-party code you’ve manually added to your store, including tag managers and the tags within them
  • Here are some tips that you can use to improve your site performance:

2. Pay attention to your cart abandonment rate

Additionally, a high cart abandonment rate can be particularly frustrating for your business, especially when you’ve invested heavily in getting people to your site in the first place.

A high cart abandonment rate represents potential customers who chose not to become customers. This is also a reason causing low conversion rates.

  • You can remind your customers about the products left in their carts and encourage them to finalize their purchase by:
    • Email Reminders: Send emails to customers who abandon their carts, reminding them of their items.
    • Incentives: Offer a discount or free shipping to encourage them to complete their purchase.

3. Improve SEO

Taking the time to ensure your web pages are properly optimized can help increase your organic traffic, meaning more potential customers browsing your products.  SEO strategies can drive site traffic to your Shopify website effectively.

For an average small e-commerce store, you should get at least 1000 visitors per month to start having a stable source for sales. Here are some basic elements you should check:

Title Tags & Meta Descriptions:

  • Each page should have unique, descriptive title tags and meta descriptions.
  • Include relevant keywords without overstuffing.

Content:

  • Regularly updated the blog with valuable content on trendy topics.
  • Use headings (H1, H2, H3) appropriately to structure content and include keywords.

You can also check this SEO checklist by Shopify to learn more about optimizing your e-commerce store and blog. This will boost your online presence and bring more traffic to your website.

Besides, here are some suggestions about the UX/UI of your website

4. Banner

mageplazacs_9-1720691467571.png

  • You should use an eye-catching hero banner with a clear value proposition and a strong call-to-action (CTA). Highlight any ongoing sales, new arrivals, or bestsellers.
  • Here is a reference

5. Add call to action buttons

  • Add ATC, add to wishlist, quick view buttons to encourage customers to buy your products

I hope some of my suggestions are helpful, feel free to give me any feedback.

Good luck!

Hello @JoshSvarplaitis

Here are some general website improvement tips that you might find helpful:

  • Use high-quality images that showcase your products in detail. This will help potential customers get a good sense of what they're looking at and make them more likely to trust your brand.
  • Make it clear what you want visitors to do on your website, whether it's adding an item to their cart, contacting you for a quote, or subscribing to your email list. Use strong calls to action (CTAs) throughout your website.
  • Ensure your website is mobile-friendly, as more and more people are shopping on their phones and tablets.
  • Include customer reviews on your website. Social proof can be a powerful motivator for potential customers.
  • Include trust signals on your website, such as security badges. This will help potential customers feel confident about shopping on your website.
  • Use FREE Shopify SEO App for better website optimization.

Hi,

I browsed your website and found it very easy to understand the products you are selling. Your website pays great attention to content, such as detailed product descriptions, which gives me a sense of trust.

However, if I decide to purchase, I definitely need to know about your brand because your products are not cheap, but the website does not mention this.

You could add a section on the homepage introducing your brand. It could be videos, pictures, or text descriptions. It’s important that it’s not just some flashy words; even explaining how your store was created, real office photos of your studio, or your company information would be the best.

I searched the keyword “plastic hot tub” and found your ranking is 53, which makes it nearly impossible for your website to get organic traffic.

While looking at the competitor websites ranking above you, I noticed two characteristics:
1. Competitor websites have higher domain ratings than yours. Even if your domain rating is 0, competitor websites have domain ratings of 8, but they have 78 organic traffic, your website's organic traffic is 1. and some even have 4.1K organic traffic (this might be a result of their brand).

2. Competitor websites have a strong brand presence. They focus more on introducing and expressing their store or brand, which gives a strong sense of trust even if their website is not that fancy.

So, you can start by giving your website a brand feel. For example, the information I saw on your competitors' websites,

SEOAntZoey_1-1722222997864.png
you can also use social media to introduce your website and build brand awareness.

Additionally, I noticed that your descriptions are uniquely written with an experiential feel, but people don’t search for “the perfect way to relax” when looking for plastic hot tubs.

You can use the SEOAnt-AI SEO app to improve these:

It can:
1. Edit all meta titles and descriptions of your website pages, with AI functionality to output more attractive text.

2. Backlink exchange function, exchanging backlinks with websites related to your industry, improving your website’s Google ranking. Website acceleration and generating rich media search results can provide a friendly shopping experience.

3. Keyword research:
- View your own keyword rankings and traffic to understand the source of your website traffic.
- Analyze competitors’ keywords, filter out competitors’ high-traffic, low-difficulty keywords for your own use, and view changes after using competitors' keywords.
- Competitor keyword comparison, comparing and analyzing the same keyword rankings and traffic for your website and competitors, and understanding the shared keyword situation with competitor websites.

If you want to try to install and use it, we offer you a 40% OFF:“SEOAnt-AI SEO40%OFF”, valid for a long time.

These are some of my experiences and suggestions. I know many stores have difficulties, but regardless, I wish you prosperous business and success!
