Hello,

Does anyone know how to solve an issue with the wrong country chosen in Google Merchant Center? Our business has addresses in two countries, however, when registering an acc. we chose the one, where the Google Customer Reviews and Google Actions programs are not available. Now, when trying to change the country it says:

"This country was selected during account setup, and cannot be changed after your account has been created. Your business country may determine the availability of certain programs".

We contacted Google support, but they just suggested creating the new Google Merchant Center acc. with the new country. Is it the only way? And what will happen with our active campaigns when changing accounts?

Hello Irena,

If Google will not make a manual change for you, then you'll have to create a new account. You can create the new account, add your feed, and get your products approved prior to unlinking your current account to prevent downtime.

Hello Irena, yes you can not change the country after creation.

And yes, the only solution is to close down your original account and create a new one.

However, and this is very important. Make sure the country you choose is the country where you do your business, IE this must match all public info including PayPal or risk getting suspended.

Don't register GMC in a country where you are not located.

Thank you for your answers! @EmmanuelFlossie, so having the address in the country and selling our products there is enough to say that we are "doing business there" or not? Thanks!

You should have the address, be the address where you work from. Don't use functional addresses, po boxes, virtually addresses, co working spaces, distribution centers etc. If you do, most likely you will get suspended.
