Customer Interests from form to segment emails

I'd like to send out emails to users based on self chosen interests. Ideally the user would fill out a subscription form and choose the categories they are interested in. Then I would be able to send out emails to users based on the interests that they chose during sign up. 

I see that I can segment email audiences based on previous purchases, and actions that users take but I'm not seeing anything as straightforward as what I'm trying to do.

I'm definitely open to using an app to achieve this. Thanks!

This is Victor from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App.

I have experience with Omnisend and have set up several campaigns from there. I think what you want to do is achievable with Email marketing apps that allow form and automation.

So the 1st thing I would do is to create a form with that tool, and to create a custom property as a field in the form with options.

Then, I would create segments based on each interest.

Finally, I will create the automation for each segment

Above is just an example of the tool I have used. You may try other tools like Klaviyo, Avada or search for email marketing tools on the app store. Hope it can give you an idea of what you may do.
