SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
We recently moved to Shopify from WordPress. Ever since then, our Google Merchant Center is disapproving products with a "mismatched domains" error. Six separate techs at Google can't help, and two techs at Shopify seem unsure. Does ANYBODY out there have a solution? I need to get my products approved and the website running efficiently.
Hi @Megan29
This error typically only happens if the claimed domain differs from the URLs sent to the Google Merchant Center. Even sub-domains can cause an issue. Can you share what your claimed domain is
You can find this under settings > business information > website > Your website address.
Double-check if this domain name matches your product data sent to Google.
Hi
Are you okay with sharing the screenshots here? For both domain and the product list page? Maybe I can spot if something is wrong.
I can't see any attachments. I hope you did not reply to the email with attachments. Kindly upload to the web interface of shopify community.
I prefer not to publicly share them. Thank you.
Go to Google Merchant Center > Products > Diagnostics > click on the issue > view one of the samples > scroll to the bottom and view the final attributes, or rejected attributes > does the link match the domain?
My guess you have myshopify.com instead of your own domain.
Make sure you update your Shopify account domain setup, here is a guide: https://feedarmy.com/kb/shopify-url-shows-myshopify-com-instead-of-my-domain/
That is a great guess, but I corrected the domain last week and the problem still exists.
So you are saying that the final URL for all products match your domain name in Google Merchant Center? And that the claimed URL also match? In that case you have a deeper issue and you need someone to look into your account. If you don't want to share any further details, the best likely course is to contact Google support again.
Yes, you are exactly right. The final URL for all products match the domain name in Google Merchant Center. The claimed URL also matches. That's where I'm running into all the trouble. There doesn't seem to be a reason why Google and the site aren't getting along. . .
