Does using my own domain improve my store's SEO?

I want to use my own domain https://shopps.shop/ for my shopify store instead if using a shopify sybdomain. Does this improve SEO of my store?

You can definitely add your own custom domain name, see here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/domains/add-a-domain 

The domain name that you use probably wouldn't have any effect on your organic SEO -- but it does make your store look significantly more professional, which can increase trust with your customers, thus likely helping with conversion rates.

Changing from .myshopify.com domain to a custom domain won't have an impact on your SEO rankings. But your brand image definitely gets improved as a custom domain appears more trustworthy than the default Shopify subdomain.
