Hi people,
I see everyone talking about shopify drop shipping and facebook ads but I feel like it's not possible to do anymore in 2018.
What is your recent experience with ads, dropshipping and competition?
Hmm, interesting. Where are you seeing everyone talk about dropshipping? Have to be mindful of your sources/credibility
"Dropshipping is dead"
"Facebook ads dont work"
I hear these both quite often.
But the truth is, it's not dead, its just harder.
But it will never be easier than it is right NOW!
If that makes sense 😉
Competition has risen, sure, but it's going to get more difficult as time goes on. So get in now, and be sure to stay on the cutting edge.
There was a serial entrepreneur that just built a really successful dropshipping brand a few months ago.
He did an interview with shopify/oberlo and broke his succcess down step-by-step:
I just learned about it in this article: "Shopify Dropshipping in 2018: 4 weeks & $8,872 later"
I suggest you read it as theres a lot of golden nuggets & videos packed in, but the highlights are:
1) Picking products
Product picking is getting more difficult as people continue to snatch up all of the good products.
However it's not impossible. The key to combat this is product research.
The gentlemen in this review picked products with some unique research strateglies like using his girlfriend, google trends, and some weird competitior research hack.
2) Developing a beautiful website
He used a secret shopify theme and splash paint to create a really nice, high converting website. The video trick he used was really cool! If you develop an poor site, your visitors will not trust nor buy from you. I see a lot of new stores that struggle with this. Whats your website? I can review it if you'd like
3) Implementing a three layer strategy to Facebook ads
As you said, everyone knows facebook ads are a great way to drive traffic and conversions.
But most people don't implement a strategy good enough to make it profitable or worth while.
The guy in this article explained that it takes more than just one facebook ad to build a relationship with consumers. His 3-layer strategy to FB ads is really cool and apparently worked like wonders! I am going to try it soon. You should too!
So those were the highlights that I enjoyed but the article is worth a full read / watch!
Look forward to see what other strategies people are implementing.
Shopify dropshipping is more competitive in 2018. But not dead. Not dead at all 🙂
