Email automatization marked as saved but not saved?

Hi there! I started editing the automatic email sent by shopify but every time I save I get two contradicting messages. The first one says that all changes have been saved but then I get another one that says that I should do at least one change before the email can be sent. The whole email is different and when I send a test email they have been applied.

I'm not sure where else to click since it keeps telling me that the emails won't be sent while on draft but they're no longer a draft. Thanks!

Hi @trestristestigr

It seems you've successfully edited Shopify's automatic email templates, as the changes appear in test emails. However, you're encountering messages indicating that emails won't be sent while in draft status. This suggests that the emails are still considered drafts and need to be activated.

To resolve this issue:

1- Verify Email Activation:

  • Ensure that the edited email templates are marked as active and not in draft mode. In Shopify, navigate to Settings > Notifications, select the specific email notification, and confirm it's active.

2- Check for Unresolved Errors:

  • Look for any errors or warnings in the email template editor that might prevent activation. For instance, dynamic source errors can hinder saving changes. If such errors exist, correct them before saving.

3- Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:

  • Cached data can sometimes cause issues. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then refresh the page and attempt to save the changes again.

4- Try a Different Browser:

  • Access Shopify using an alternative browser to determine if the issue is browser-specific.

5- Disable Browser Extensions:

  • Certain extensions might conflict with Shopify's interface. Temporarily disable any extensions, especially those related to email management or ad-blocking, and check if the problem persists.

6- Contact Shopify Support:

  • If the issue continues after these steps, reach out to Shopify's customer support for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to activate your email templates and ensure they're sent as intended.
