Email Hosted on 3rd Party but Website Pointing to Shopify Store

I want to keep my email on hostgator. I have access to my advanced DNS. 

I know how to hook up to point it all to shopify using the A Name.

But wont that direct everything including email to shopify?

How do I keep my email seperated from the store.

Please advise. Thanks

Hello thanks for the reply. We have already pointed the A records.

I am very familiar with DNS. So I should setup the MX Records on Hostgator to create the split and then email will remain on the domain level while webservices will point to Shopify....?
