Email Marketing

Can I get a few opinions on how many sales emails a month or week are acceptable?

There are some companies that send one a day to my (annoying) and others I don't hear from for a couple of week (where'd they go?).

What are some good frequency recommendations?  What is acceptable?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, @JeanetteQuillen

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your question, I would be happy to some insight.

I can definitely understand how important it is to find the perfect balance when it comes to email marketing. As a role of thumb, it's a good idea to keep your subscribers engaged at least once a month with updates regarding new collections, sales, promotions, and any other business news. With that being said, there will be times throughout the year when you are doing a flash sale or have a really exciting initiative that you would love to share with your customers. A lot of businesses keep a calendar to make sure that your readers can  find new content and reminds them to visit your store. Be careful not to communicate too often with your customers because this can cause them to lose interest. We have an awesome Best practices for Shopify Email guide on our Help Center that goes into more detail.

I'd love to know what other marketing strategies you are using to drive traffic to your store!

Feel free to reply back to this thread with any questions or updates and we can continue our conversation further.

Hello, JeanetteQuillen I honestly believe it varies from company to company.

I believe you should ask your audience how many times a week they would like to hear from you. You can also ask them what kind of information they will like to get in their inbox from you. I hope this helps.
