SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
Hello,
I am trying to send marketing newsletters to customers based on their language (for Belgium which has 2 main languages FR and NL) and had in mind to use their browser's language. However it seems that Mailchimp does not detect the language with the Shopify integration (and both Mailchimp and Shopify support could not help unfortunately).
Does anyone have a way around it?
I thought about tagging the users but the language does not seem to be stored in Shopify for customers that haven't purchased anything on the shop...
Thanks a lot for your help!
Facing the same problem, have you found any good solution in the meantime?
It looks like the only way to match the user's language preference with the Mailchimp language is by creating an "Embedded Form" via Mailchimp and making the "Language Preference" a required input field. This generates HTML code, which you can then embed in your site or blog to collect signups.
Via automations, you can then send out welcome emails in different languages, based on the preference set by the user.
Just tested this out and it works decently well...
Hello @Choba
Hello,
It's great to hear you've found a workaround with the "Embedded Form" and automation for language preferences in Mailchimp. We are currently developing an app that aims to simplify and automate email translation within Mailchimp even further. Our app will use advanced AI, specifically DeepL's technology, to translate emails seamlessly, saving you the time of setting up multiple forms and automations. If the idea of translating your email campaigns with a single click appeals to you, would you be interested in giving our solution a try and providing us with your valuable feedback?
Thank you
Hello @kamilla_l
We're in the process of developing an app to tackle the very issue you've described for our clothing brand in France, as we've also started selling in multi-language European countries. Our solution involves Shopify webhooks for new accounts or orders, identifying the customer's locale. This info is then used to add a custom field in Mailchimp for precise segmentation by country or language. Plus, we're integrating DeepL's AI for one-click campaign translations. We're seeking feedback to refine our approach. Would you be interested in providing feedback and testing our app?
Looking forward to your response!
