I have recently launched an online store, which specialises in handcrafted leather products. I set up several Cold Traffic & Retargeting campaigns to make first sales, but it has been more than a week and I haven't received a single sale from these Ads.
Today, while researching the subject related to Campaign Objectives, I saw from one YouTube video that it is not recommended to choose Conversions Objective (for instance Add to Cart), unless you have 50 or something of such conversations per week (which, I obviously don't have, since the website was launched a little over a week ago).
Hence, I would like to know what is the preferred Campaign Objective for a new website without any Conversion history what so ever?
In terms of targeting, I chose the following interests: Fashion and Style, Fashion blog, Fashion accessories, Street fashion or Fashion Bloggers; and Narrowed down the Audience by adding the following Behaviors: "Engaged Shoppers", "Online Shopping" and "Minimalism".
Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hear any feedback or recommendations.
Choosing the right campaign objective will play a pivotal role in achieving the desired results for your recently launched store.
The campaign’s objective should be focused around brand awareness ( Drive Traffic). When visitors land on your website they should be able to engage and interact.
When you get sufficient traffic you can then trace visitors’ activities through Pixels.
In the second campaign your objective should be retargeting - that is when you convert into sales.
I've just checked your website and have to admit that your products looks so great and minimalist!
Regarding the ads, as recommended I would also choose the traffic campaign objective to drive people to your website. Plus, if you have any video or gif, you can also run the video views campaign objective. If you do so, you can then create and audience, which will include people who watched x secs of your video, who you can retarget later.
You can also try running the conversion ads for acquiring new customers - however, I wouldn't use the event "purchase" but rather "view content". In this way, you can also create an audience including people with this event and retarget them later on.
And the 50 conversions - it's true that it's recommended, however, I worked with a couple of clients who don't have 50 conversions per week and the ads are also working (but the optimization takes longer). Generally for Facebook ads, If you don't try (I mean e.g. the conversion campaign objective), you won't know whether it's working or not. Facebook ads are a lot about testing (of course depends on your budget).
Hope this helps!
Thank you very much for your positive feedback about our store and products, much appreciated 😉
In terms of the ADs, yes, I decided to go with the Traffic Campaign Goal. Get a lot of traffic, but not so many sales at the moment. Hopefully our Retargeting campaign will do the work and return some of those visitors and convert them into customers.
one more thing I forgot to write:
Regarding the targeting (interests, behavior and demographics), I would also include more specific interests since interests such as fashion, shopping, accessories, etc. are very general and are usually more expensive. In your case, I would write down specifics of your target audience(s) and interests which they might have.
To see what interests you might use, I recommend using the "suggestions". You can find it next to the search bar for the interests:
If you need any more help with the ads, just let me know. I'll be happy to discuss them with you.
If you new objective now is to convert more sales, external marketplaces to sell your product could be an effective way to do so. There are many ecommerce platforms that would provide you with their user base to increase the exposure of your product and will advertise your products.
Great idea, thank you very much for your recommendation. Maybe you could recommend any good external marketplaces?
