Hi, I have a question. How can I set up an ad on Facebook that when people search for a specific product online it picks up their interest and shows my ads? For example, if they went to my competetor and checked out their product, how can I set up an ad so it follows them? Thank you for your help.

You can not target people if they went to your competitors site. However, you could bid on the competitors name on Google and Bing and have them come to your site. Once on your site, if they get added to a remarketing list. You can show them ads on Google and Facebook. Hope you found this helpful, if so please click "like" below to let me know.

Hi there,

Elle here from Shopify!

Currently, Facebook does not have the capability to allow you to serve ads to people who have searched for your products or viewed similar products on a competitor's site.

What Facebook can do, is serve personalized ads to people who have viewed your site and left without making a purchase. These are called Dynamic Product Ads, and you can create and manage them right from your Shopify Admin. Here is our documentation on the feature.

Another way to serve ads to potential customers searching for your products online would be to utilize Google Adwords. With Adwords, you can bid on certain keywords so your ads are displayed when certain keywords are used in a search. You can learn more about bidding on keywords here.

I hope this is helpful! if you have any other questions don't hesitate to reach out, we are available 24/7.

Cheers,

Elle
