Facebook integrity certification

Hello everyone,

I have a very specific question. Hoping that anybody can help me.

I am selling crypto currency related merchandise. which means I can't advertise on facebook and instagram. In order to be able to advertise on social media, I have to get a  integrity certification on facebook. In order to get that certification  have to verify my domains by adding a DNS file to my domain.

I am very positive I have done this to both my domains. (www.blockchainstuff.nl) (www.blockchainstuff.shop
However, whenever I submit a ticket with facebook, a bot tells me that I have to get my domains verified. Is it possible that my shopify domain (allmerchcrypto.myshopify.com) that hasn't an added DNS file is the problem?
If anybody have some suggestions or the same problem? I would love to hear from you.

Because it's inpossible to get in touch with an actual person from facebook. Im stuck in a loop with these bots telling me my domains aren't verified.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated 🙂

Hi Joris,

Nick here from Shopify.

Can I ask where you verified your domains exactly? This is generally done via Google and Shopify even has a helpful document gong through all the steps for this which you can see here where Pinterest is being used as an example rather than Facebook lets say. Google also have a great guide for this which I followed when I did it for my own store which you can see from here

Quite often it can take up to 72 hours for domain registrations to go through, so if this has been within the last 3 days, it is quite normal. If it's been longer than 3 days it might be worth going through the process again to make sure it was done correctly.

Hope this helps and points you in the right direction for best next steps. Don't hesitate to reach out again should you have any other questions.

All the best, Nick

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your reply!

I have done this in shopify. I went through: Online store --> domains --> manage --> add DNS file. The business manager in facebook gives green light that the domains are verified.  But when I apply for the intergrity certification it says they aren't verified.

It's been longer then 3 days.

I can't verify my domain in google because I dont have an G-suite account.

Hi Joris,

If you have verified but are looking for the integrity certification for Facebook specifically, there is a guide I found which might be of use which you can see here. Hopefully, by verifying through Facebook directly, it will allow you to submit a ticket with them directly and create ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Let me know if this works.

All the best, Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your efforts but this is the process I initatilly talked about. I have done this 100% succesfully with my domains. However facebook doenst seem to recognize my domains as being verified. I will reset and try again with a different method. Maybe it will help.

I was hoping that somebody from shopify have had exerpience with previous shops about this issue and had some tricks to fix this. Will updat this thread if I manage to get it working.

Regards,

Joris

Hi Joris,

It's so strange that Facebook would not recognize the domains as being verified. Hopefully trying a different method will help and please update this thread if you get it working. If your domain is verified and working in your Shopify admin, then it really does seem to be something on the Facebook side of things which would be out of our control. It's something I have never heard of personally, but as you said, hopefully, somebody else might have and they can add to this.

Cheers, Nick

Hi Nick,

I was thinking to transfer my domains to antoher provider from shopify and try to get them verified that way. Maybe the problem is that shopify is the domain host and doesn't share the information with facebook?

For example, I also dont get facebook to accept my business email which is connected to my shopify domain. What are your thoughts on this?
Also, will my shop function in shopify properly if I transfer my domain to a different provider?

Thank you in advance,

Joris

Hi Joris,

Apologies for the late response.

if you transfer your domain to a different provider it would not affect anything with your store in any way shape or form. I haven't heard of this occurring in the past so I'm not 100% sure if this is anything to do with where your domain is hosted. Is there any other information you can share, such as a screenshot of where this error message is being shown to you to help us troubleshoot this further.

I did come across a couple of helpful information articles from Facebook about this which could shed some more light for you. There is one about Domain Verification here and another about Domain Verification in Business Manager here

Hopefully, this helps.

All the best, Nick
