Facebook Pixel does not connect with my store

Hi Everyone!,

I just tried to connect facebook pixel with my new store but when I sent a traffic test it comes back with 'no activity yet'.

in my events manager, my status is offline and there is a message that says:   We haven't received any activity from your pixel in this time frame. 

I followed the instruction properly as last time when I was setting up different facebook pixel to another shop but this time it just does not work. 

On my website, the Facebook pixel helper says that there is no pixels are found and it's grey.

Hello, Matt!

I can understand how it would be confusing that your Facebook Pixel isn’t showing up on your new store, but does on another. Sometimes this can happen if you’re using Ad Blocker on your web browser. If you pause Ad Blocker for your new store, the Facebook Pixel should work again.

What Duanebrown suggested may also work as well!

I also recommend reviewing the steps again from Facebook’s help page to add the pixel to your store: Connect Your Facebook Pixel to Shopify.

Did you miss a number and copy the Pixel ID wrong by mistake? Maybe delete and try re-adding the Pixel ID again.

 I have followed your instruction by pausing the ad blocker and then connect the pixel to the Shopify store but still, it is showing not activated yet. Please resolve my problem as soon as possible. I wasted my whole day in finding the way how to connect it. Thank you

Thanks for reaching out and I appreciate you looking into a number of troubleshooting steps. I took a look at the URL that you provided and I am using the Facebook Pixel Helper from Facebook to check if the pixel is working correctly on your store. I can see that my pixel is showing a green box, which indicates that a pixel has been found on your store.

 

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:

Can you please take a screenshot of what you're seeing? Are you using the Facebook Pixel Helper to view whether the pixel is working correctly? I did some digging and found that Facebook has some steps to ensure your pixel is working correctly, here: Best Practices for Facebook Pixel.

Hello,

 

I experience the same problem. Disabled my adblocker, yet there is no activity registered, which makes it impossible to complete creating the pixel.

loftea.myshopify.com is my URL.

I appreciate that you've tried some troubleshooting steps. If disabling the ad blocker on your computer didn't have the pixel appear, then I recommend clearing your cache and cookies. Check out our help doc: Supported browsers, to learn how to clear your cache and cookies.

I was using Brave browser and I had to disable the Shield in order to make it work. Disabling AdBlocker was not enough.

Hi,

I am facing the same exact problem. I don't have an ad blocker installed or anything like that. I have been trying to connect the Pixel for 2 days and it is still telling me "No Activity Yet".

There's no point in having a Shopify account if I can't send traffic to the website, and I've already lost two days. Can someone from Shopify help please?

I have read all the help guides, done all the troubleshooting (clear cache, use Facebook Pixel Helper, etc.) and it's still not working. I can only hope that just like the previous post, somehow it magically works tomorrow.

It sounds like the "No Activity Yet" is a common situation in this thread. I'm happy to provide some direction on this.

Where are you seeing this error? Is it in the Shopify admin or on Facebook? If you are seeing the error on Facebook's end, then this would be outside our scope of support. 

Is the Facebook Pixel Helper showing that the pixel has been found on your store? If so, then the Facebook Pixel is working on your store and the "No Activity Yet" on Facebook may be a result of traffic not coming to your store. 

I'm curious to hear what the community has to suggest!

I couldn't figure out how to get it to work and ended up trying again in 2 days, and for some random reason it worked.

It seems like it may just take time for it to propagate.

Hi all, This was a SOLUTION for me.

My issue was that I removed the Pixel ID from the store's preferences and installed the Facebook App as suggested by shopify.

AFter I did that, I played a bit with the settings and I checked the "california" option below. After this, the Pixel was NOT firing at all on the store.

I even contacted support thinking there was an error.

AFter around 1 hour or so of playing with facebook manager, I came back here and unchecked these options and BOOM!

The new facebook channel app for installing the facebook pixel started working without any issues or problems.

Check your preferences and try unchecking these options.

Hello all, I was stuck on this issue for a while as well. I kept trying to test the connection, but it kept coming back as no activity yet. I resolved this by creating and using a new pixel. Hope this helps.

Hello! Could you possibly take a look at my Shopify and see if I have done anything wrong when it comes to connecting my Shopify to Facebook? it says it is done right but when I try to send test traffic on my Facebook ad manager, nothing seems to happen..

UPDATE: So it seems you can only have one pixel source on your store at a time. I played around with settings and eventually went to the Facebook channel > Settings > Data sharing settings. At the bottom I disconnected the "Ads Pixel for Shopify Facebook Ad" and I was then able to pick "Little Bossy's Pixel" which was the one I've been trying to verify. I went back to continue my pixel set up and it picked it up the traffic straight away. So the reason I couldn't connect is because it had created a new pixel on my business manager for me and had already connected to that and you can only track your store with one selected pixel. Very confusing stuff, played around for almost 4 hours to discover this.

 

Hi @Tira , I'm also having trouble connecting my stores pixel. I just can't pick up the traffic when trying to find activity on my domain. I've used my phone with wifi off, I've gotten friends to jump on my website too.

I have a "Ads Pixel for Shopify Facebook Ad" which was automatically created, it appeared after I had added a pixel through Business Settings > Data Sources > Pixels.  I can see that it is active in my Event Manager > Data Sources, and I can see the overview and page views and add to carts etc.

But when I go onto my stores pixel I still need to need to click "Continue Pixel Setup" and it will ask me to send traffic test again. I've been trying to get it to verify for over an hour now. I've tried everything in the thread.

Tira here. I really appreciate that you took the time to do your own research and to share your update here with the Shopify Community. 

That’s right, when using the Facebook Pixel Helper to check your active pixels on your store, you may see more than one pixel on your store. This will happen if a Facebook Pixel has been added to different areas of your store (such as in your theme’s coding, or in your Shopify Admin settings). As a refresher, here’s our help doc on changing and removing your Facebook Pixel.

@Tira Thanks for the links. I'm not sure which is the pixel code in the theme.liquid editor.

In my Online Store > Preferences > Facebook Pixel, all I have is a "Set Up Facebook" button. It doesn't show my Pixels there.

But in my Facebook Events Manager I can still see the 2 pixels there for my store.

It looks like your store doesn't have the pixel added through the Online Store > Preferences page. How did you add your pixel to your store? 

In your first screenshot from your first post, what happens when you click on "Pageview" and "Microdata Automatically detected"? Let me know!

Seems like I have the same problem as you did. How have you managed to make your real pixel appear on your Shopify Facebook setup? 

 

Waiting for your response asap. Strugglin for 3 days already to discover a solution and I didn't find it ffs.

Hi, yes I did it thanks to Shopify assistant. It was a problem with customer privacy in Europe. If you look under “sales channel” and click “online store” you have “preferences”, found in the page “customer privacy” and disable it.

Hi Tira,

Thank you for your response.  It was exactly why my Facebook Pixel was not getting activated.

Does this also mean that Facebook Analytics underestimates the actual number of activities?

I know many people who use ad blockers, so their visits will not be capture I presume.
