Facebook Pixel, Standard Events (for Dynamic Ads) incorrectly formatting Purchase event data

I recently installed a Facebook Pixel on a shop by entering the ID in the Shopify shop settings.

Facebook is reporting issues with the Purchase event Value. Any purchase over 1k eg. "1,005.00" is reported as invalid formatting by Facebook (no commas allowed).

Is this a shopify issue? AFAIK the events are all setup automatically by Shopify just by adding the pixel ID in /admin, and out of my control unless I want to manually setup all the events.
