Hi Everyone,

I have twice failed Google's misrepresentation policy and I can't figure out why, could someone please help?

Website is: https://theprintvault.com/

I have already added a lot more based on their policies:

  • More shipping information
  • updated product information
  • contact information

I can't figure out what else I need to do. Thanks!

Hi there,  I don't see any contact information. I do see a form, and it is missing your company name, phone number, and address.  I don't see the company name or address in the footer. Google is all about Trust. Let's make it easy for a customer to contact you.  Also, make sure your shipping policy aligns with the shipping policy found in your Merchant Center.

There are several discussions around this topic.   Try searching those for more details.

Hope this helps!

Hi!

Google's Misrepresentation policy states that you must remain transparent with your buyers. As has been mentioned, Google operates on trust.
Here are a few more steps you can take to fix the misrepresentation error.
On your website (based on my personal observation):

  • Add an 'About Us' page. Add more information about yourself, your business, and your vision. (This helps customers + Google to know you better)
  • Add more ways for customers to reach you. If not, you can add days and times during which you are more likely to be active.
  • Add business location and add a number. Ensure these two match with the rest of information available about your store anywhere on the internet.
  • While it is great that you have added your social media pages to your Home page, try posting more or increasing the engagement on these pages. Having a rounded profile can help build more credibility.
  • Link return and refund policy pages to all product pages

On Google Merchant Center:

  • Ensure that all the information you've added to your product pages is relevant, updated, and matches perfectly with the data you submit to Google Merchant Center. If there is a discrepancy between the data on your website and what you submit to Google, you are sure to be flagged for misrepresentation.
  • Ensure you have provided all the required data for your products. Give Google as much information as possible.
  • Ensure that your products are in the right category. This seems like an insignificant thing, but it can significantly impact your validity.
  • Lastly, ensure that the checkout process is secure (I'm sure it already is, but it does not hurt to check!)

Hope this helps, if you have more questions, ask away!
