Hello,

I am running Top, Middle and bottom of funnel FB & IG ads (around $90-100 per day) as well as google display, shopping and search (around $40) but not getting any ROI.

Is anyone in the same boat or is anyone having success? I am getting hit on by a lot of agencies promising big ROAS but not sure what to do.

Any help or a shared experience is much much appreciated.

Marc

@MarcC mark immediately stops your ads if you're not receiving any sales first of all you have to know how to sell and where to sell and whom to sell. you re running fb insta and google ads you have to learn how to market your store because there are many things count to drive sales on your store for example if your store does not have few review and ppl are confused should we buy or not so they read a review of the different buyer. and also sometimes your ad creativity is not enough appealing for the buyers so there are many things involved in driving sales. would you please like to show me your website url?

Hey @MarcC,

Sorry to hear, it's discouraging to put money in and not get a return on your investment.

When you get high traffic and no sales it either means you are getting the wrong kind of traffic (not your target audience) or there is something within your store that is turning people away (product prices, shipping time, shipping cost, a site error etc.). We recently released a 2021 Shopify Ad Strategy video that I'd recommend giving a watch:

If you want us to take a look at your store and see if anything is standing out that could be costing you conversions, we do store reviews for free. You can create a post with your store link on the Feedback on My Store part of the forum and tag us or email us directly at ecomgeeksco@gmail.com

We hope our response was helpful, if it was, let us know by giving us a thumbs up and/or marking it as a solution!

Best of luck!

Hey @MarcC,

Before you spend too much money on paid ads, you might want to check if your store is optimized for conversion rate as good as you can. Check your Analytics and have a look at your conversion rate section to see if there are any suspicious drop-offs.

I would ask myself two questions basically:
1. Is there enough trust (credentials, reviews, does the design look clean, etc.)?
2. Do I reduce friction (is it easy to navigate, do I provide all the info that shoppers might ask in their minds like (free) shipping, etc.?

Next, you might want to check if you have solid email flows set up and an opt-in with a discount on it. Especially important the Abandonment series.

Once you have optimized your bottom of the funnel it's time for the next test run of paid ads if that makes sense 🙂

Let me know if you need any further advice.

Hi @MarcC ,

What audience you are targeting too? Have you added some specific filters like lookalikes or retargeting audiences? If you are not getting 2x-4x on adspends, you might be setting up things terribly wrong.

The card abandoned rates for any e-commerce store are generally upto 65% percent. Most of this people could be converted if they are reminded of there carts in advertisements. Try to create re-targeting campaigns to show people ads of products which they have left abandoned in there carts.

If you have enough of purchasers data, create lookalike audience of it to find people which might be interested in purchasing your store. This technique is called prospecting campaigns. Fb AI find very precised audience and promotes to people who will genuinely be interested in purchasing your products.

Start with this campaigns, we have seen our clients getting significant part of their sales by following below strategies:

  • Cart abandoned campaigns - Show ads to people who have left cart abandoned on your store
  • Best Seller Campaigns - Show people who visited your store in the last 30 days, a carousel ad of the best seller in your store. The data is refreshed on daily basis.
  • Discounts/Sales Campaigns - Give discount coupons to your existing customers who might be interested in a product
  • Prospecting Campaigns - Find new audience which are similar to people who have visited or purchased from your store.
  • Social Media Base Campaigns- Target audience who engaged with your social media posts/ads.
  • Cross-sell /Upsell Campaigns- Cross sell or upsell products to audience who have already made a purchase from your store

You must also try this app Addyz. It will help you create branded catalogues and campaign strategies to increase your conversions and return on marketing budget.

Hey Marc

First of all, you should combine SEO with PPC strategy. This can help you to achieve the goal of increasing your digital reach and increase your sales.

When optimizing your ads, have ever you tried to use Ad extensionsThey provide useful information for our clients and improve the image and quality of the ads. There are many ad extensions, but we consider these to be the fundamental ones: Location extension, call extension, callout extension, sitelink extension and structured snippet extension.

You should also get started in Shopping ads. It's easier since you don't have to pay attention to keywords, you only have to add your product feed to Google Merchant Center.

If you need some help, we can help you to automate and optimize your ads with our Google Ads and Shopping Free app for Shopify. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions!
