Fetch Acquisition Channel via API?

Hi there!

I'm working on a data science project for a client. They sell a subscription through Shopify. We are using the Shopify API to pull customer account info and orders into our data warehouse. We'd also like to be able associate the order with the customer acquisition channel they found us through.

Does anyone have a good way of recording the acquisition channel on the Shopify Customer or Order record inside Shopify?

Hey Jonathan - did you ever figure out the answer to this? I want to track customer acquisition source/medium in Shopify but our site is built using the Shopify API, not a Shopify website template

I didn't figure anything out through Shopify. We use Segment, and I've built a custom ETL and data warehouse that has enough of the data being pulled in to be able to perform the kinds of queries and correlations we're looking for.

This is actually for a friend's company, so if anyone else reading this needs guidance on how to do this, I can probably help!

Thanks. A friend of mine recommended I look into Segment. It's overkill for what I need right now but I'm looking into it as one of the options. Thanks for responding!
