Hey guys!

I started a few month ago with my shopify store, lovegifts.ch.

After the first few days of Product search I designed the shop, and now I'm also done with that.

And because I'm a beginner I would like to ask:

Could anyone give me some advise for whats the next step?
Maybe SEO, or Tiktok / Facebook ads?

Website: LoveGifts

Note: My targeted audience is only german speaking countries.

I would be very thankfull for your help, thanks!

Hi @lovegifts_ch Welcome to the Community!, and congratulation on creating your store and making it public.

Yes you are correct you need to increase the traffic on your site with the help of Ads platform like Facebook, Tiktok, Google etc, for getting the sales.

So you need to create the account in which ever ads platform you want to use and then create the ads and show that ads to customer so that customer can buy product from your store.

If you are beginner in ads then please note that ROAS is a important thing to watch out as all your profit depends on this, You can see what is the best ROAS for you according to your Profit margins.

If you need any other assistance or have any issue, please feel free to ask the same.

Hopefully it will help you. If yes then Please don't forget hit Like and Mark it as solution!

Hi @lovegifts_ch,

I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.

Congrats on launching your store—it looks fantastic! You’ve done a great job, and now it's all about getting more eyes on it, especially in the German-speaking market. Here are some key next steps that I would suggest you to start with:

1. Local SEO
Focus on German keywords related to gifting, like “Personalisierte Geschenke” or “Geschenkideen für ihn/sie.” Make sure your product descriptions, meta tags, and even blog posts are optimized in German.
- Focus on Long-Tail Keywords: Rather than using generic keywords like "Geschenke," dig into more specific search terms your audience might use. For example, think about keywords tied to the intent behind the gift, such as “personalisierte Geschenke für Männer” (personalized gifts for men) or “Geschenke für den ersten Jahrestag” (gifts for the first anniversary).
- Optimize for Regional Language Variations: Remember that Swiss, Austrian, and German users may use slightly different terms. For instance, "present" could be "Geschenk" in Germany but "Gschänk" in Swiss German. While you don’t need separate stores for each, being aware of these nuances can give you a local edge in your content.
- Create Content around Events: Germans love to plan ahead, so creating content for specific local events like “Valentinstag” or “Nikolaus” (a holiday celebrated on December 6th in Germany) will help you rank better. Blog posts like "Die besten Nikolausgeschenke für 2024" can capture local searches and boost organic traffic.

2. Social Media Ads
For Facebook and TikTok, target German-speaking regions (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and use ad copy that feels local.
- Be careful about audience segmentation: Narrow your targeting to not only the geographic regions but also behavior and life events. For example, target audiences celebrating specific milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, weddings) by using Facebook's life-event-based targeting. For TikTok, consider interest-based targeting like "DIY Gifts" or "Home Decor."
- Avoid direct translations; instead, use localized phrases that resonate with the audience, such as "Zeige deine Liebe mit einem persönlichen Geschenk" (Show your love with a personal gift) or "Geschenkideen, die Herzen erobern."
- Retargeting Campaigns: Make sure you’re using Facebook’s retargeting options by installing the Facebook Pixel. You can set up campaigns to target people who visited your store but didn’t make a purchase, showing them personalized ad messages like “Fehlt noch ein Geschenk? Hier sind unsere Bestseller!”

3. Personalization
Highlight personalized options throughout your site. Make it super clear on product pages and use it as a selling point in ads. Some approach I can think of:
- Gift Packaging: Offer premium packaging as a personalized option. Germans often appreciate attention to detail, so consider premium wrapping with handwritten notes for special occasions.
- Customization Tool: Consider adding a live customization tool on your product pages where customers can visualize their name or message on the gift before purchase. This interactive element can boost engagement and conversion rates.

4. Email Marketing
Segment your list by behavior (first-time buyers, abandoned carts) and send emails around key occasions like Christmas or Valentine's Day. After a purchase, send an email suggesting complementary products based on the customer’s order. For example, if they bought an anniversary gift, recommend additional items like “Jahrestag Deko” or personalized cards.

I hope this gives you some clear direction on what your next steps could be. You’ve already done an excellent job setting up your store, and with a focus on localized marketing, you’ll be able to connect with your audience more effectively and grow your business. Best of luck with your store, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!

Hi @lovegifts_ch ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community! We're MooseDesk , your go-to Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App here to help you enhance your customer support experience 😍

It’s great to see you joining the Shopify community! Congratulations on getting your Shopify store up and running. It's great that you've completed the initial product selection and design phases. For your next steps, I'd suggest focusing on the following areas, please take a look to consider:

1. SEO optimization:

  • Ensure all your product titles, descriptions, and meta tags are optimized for relevant keywords in German.
  • Create blog content in German to attract organic traffic. You can consider some idea like "Top 10 gift ideas for {specific occasion}", "How to choose the perfect gift: A guide",....
  • Set up proper URL structures and internal linking.

2. Social media marketing

  • Since your target audience is in German-speaking countries, focus on platforms popular in those regions.
  • TikTok and Facebook ads can be effective, but also consider Instagram and potentially Pinterest for gift-related products.
  • Create content in German and use geo-targeting for your advertising

3. Customer reviews:

  • Encourage customers to leave reviews to build trust and improve SEO for your site. You can consider adding one section on your home page to showcase the customer review. Take a look at this example below:

4.  Analytics:

  • Set up Google Analytics and Shopify's built-in analytics to track your performance.
  • Use this data to inform future marketing decisions

5. Customer Support

Last but not least, don't overlook the importance of customer support for your new online store. I can see your website lack of customer support tool so that you can reply to your customer promptly . Being available whenever customers need you the most can help drive more conversion to your store

I suggest exploring MooseDesk , a FREE LiveChat, FAQ & Helpdesk App that can help your support experience easier, better, faster!

  • With MooseDesk's Omnichannel Support, you can engage with customers through live chat, manage inquiries with a robust ticket system, and provide quick responses via a WhatsApp button.

  • Or you can reply to customer through Live chat or let customers resolve questions faster with in-built FAQ, Order tracking module, and more.

Once again, keep up the fantastic work, and I wish you the best of luck in the future! 😍
