SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
Hi
I want to track my ads campaign (Facebook) and it would be perfect to know for each campaign:
As I understand, for that purpose one should use UTM properties.
So at first, I have to create an ad on Facebook with custom UTM link. On this stage, I also should specify my target conversion (what it should be in my case?). After that, I suppose to integrate with Google Analytics in the Shopify admin panel: creating account, property, view with 4 goals (from here https://analytics.google.com/analytics/gallery/#posts/search/%3F_.term%3Dshopify%26_.start%3D0%26_.v...)
The question is:
1) Can I somehow get this 3 metrics (click from the campaign, 'Add to cart' and an average value of paid order)
2) What should I choose as a conversion in Facebook Ad Set settings?
3) Is it the right flow of setting such statistic for my campaigns?
Thanks
Do you want to see that in Google Analytics?
Yes
Do I have any other options?
As far as I got from your issue, just let me know if this is what you want to check?? Check here: https://nimb.ws/6wni4W (this is to check the data from Google Analytics).
And now for Facebook. I'll start from basics, so that if any step is missed out you can cope up with that:
> Add Google Analytics UA id on shopify store (Dashboard > Online Store > Preferences)
> Add your Facebook Pixel ID too
Once you add the Facebook pixel ID, Shopify has the ability to automatically create & manage all the event codes without doing any manual work.
However, you can check the events insights here:
1) https://nimb.ws/Toukg4 (Facebook > Business manager > Event Manager)
2) https://nimb.ws/51zleK (Business Manager > Analytics > Events)
Hope it helps!
You can connect over Skype too for further assistance. OR drop a mail to manisharautela@cedcommerce.com. Would be more than happy to help!
Thanks for answer
Facebook pixel tracks events from all incoming traffic on my store. I want to see statistic (clicks, adding to cart, average order value) divided for each Facebook marketing campaign. So it should look like:
Campaign1 => 100 clicks => 5 adding to cart => 2 purchases => 10$ AOV
Campaign1 => 200 clicks => 7 adding to cart => 3 purchases => 15$ AOV
Hey you can easily create your customised report since all these dimensions and metrics can not be available at same place on Google Analytics. So just a simple step to follow:
1) On your Google Analytics Dashboard > Go to Customisation > Custom Reports (Refer to the screenshot: https://nimb.ws/RPxq8K)
2) There you can select in DIMENSION: Campaign
3) In METRICS select the ones you want: Clicks, Product Adds to cart, Purchase, Transaction, Cost Per Transaction, Revenue, Product Revenue etc. whichever you want.
P.S: But do use the UTM parameters well. So that it becomes easy to filter out using Source/Medium dimension.
Hope this helps!
Thanks & Regards
Do let me know if you got solution to your problem!

Thanks a lot. I will try this with a new marketing campaign.
Do you know can I do the same within Facebook Ads Manager?
I found this example in YT tutorial and don't quite sure about these values. How Ads Manager can track this (Purchases, Adding to cart) without even using UTM?Values from Facebook Ads manager
That's great

yes, as i already told you, just quoting my message from my last reply: "Once you add the Facebook pixel ID, Shopify has the ability to automatically create & manage all the event codes without doing any manual work." 🙂
