Give access to Collection Page after User introduces Email Address.

Hello,

As the title says, I would like to have a collection page that it's accessible only if you introduce your email address. The reason is that we want to increase our number of subscribers for future email marketing campaigns.

I looked for third-party apps to do this, but I could not find any. Found Locksmith & Shoplock, but these apps only add passwords to specific collections or make the collection available based on specific rules, but nothing about introducing your email address.

Let me know if there is any solution for this.

Thank you!

Hey Shoniir,

Heddy from Gameball here.

You’re right, most apps like Locksmith focus on passwords or other access rules—not email capture. But don’t worry, there’s a way to make this work:

You can set up a workaround by creating a landing page that prompts users to enter their email address before they can access the collection. Here’s a basic idea of how you could do it:

  1. Create a landing page: Use a simple page on Shopify that explains the offer or special access to the collection. Add an email sign-up form here.
  2. Redirect after email submission: After someone enters their email, you can set the form to redirect them to the hidden collection page. Many email marketing platforms (like Klaviyo or Mailchimp) allow you to set up a custom redirect after a form submission.
  3. Collect emails: The emails captured can be added directly to your email marketing list, helping you grow your subscriber base.
  4. Hide the collection: Ensure the collection page isn’t accessible from your main navigation or site search, so only those with the link (from the email capture form) can find it.

This way, you’re gating access to the collection behind an email sign-up without needing a specialized app. It’s a bit of a DIY approach, but it’s effective for increasing subscribers while still providing access to your special collection.

However, you might want to consider a different approach by rewarding users for signing up with their email. With Gameball, you can create a loyalty program that offers rewards for actions like email sign-ups. Not only does this help grow your subscriber list, but it also keeps customers engaged and coming back.

So instead of just restricting access, you can encourage sign-ups by offering points or discounts. It’s a win-win—you get more subscribers, and your customers feel valued.

Good luck with whichever approach you choose 🙂
