Google Ads Status Issue: Your Google Analytics tag is missing "product ID"

Hi,

I have installed Google Analytics through the Preferences Page in Shopify as directed here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/reports-and-analytics/google-analytics/google-analytics-setup

I have started a Smart Shopping Campaign with Google however I am getting the Status Issue that says: "Your Google Analytics tag is missing "product ID""

How do I add product ID to my Google Analytics tag?

Hi James,

Yes - I only got this status issue a few days ago too, now it seems to have halted my smart shopping campaign?

Any help from Shopify would be appreciated.

I am getting a huge amount of clients complaining the same. While the code implementation was done a long time ago, it worked perfectly. Looking at the official documentation, nothing has changed : https://developers.google.com/adwords-remarketing-tag/parameters So I'm guessing this is a bug within Google, or there are new requirements or changes that Google has not released yet. Regardless it's very strange. A Google rep even said to remove the code from the cart. Which is so strange. Leads me to think they don't know about the issue. I recommend to report the issue by sending feedback within Google Ads (top right corner), to increase the importance, and hopefully Google will look in to it.
