How to tell google analytics to group the counting of 1 product from collection and product?
For example:
collection/A/product_1
product/product_1
Thanks!
Joe
If you're using Shopify's Google Analytics setup like nearly every store, the best way to do this is, is in the analysis stage using a GA filter. Go to the behavior section, then filter pages that contain "/product_1".
If you're more advanced, you could perhaps create a regex filter rule that groups this data into a single page type.
Filtering will lost figure? Say both page got 10 views
In your Shopify store, you will get an options analysis there you will get all visitor count.
Say a same peoduct, link A got 10 veiws, lili B got 5 views, filtering one of the link will not ggettin the total number of visitors of that product. Shopify cannot filter my own visit which is not a correct counting.
I haven't done this myself, but if you wanted to, you should be able to do with Filters. Create a filter that extracts the /products/product-name part of a URL and removes /collections/collections-name when a URL contains /products/product-name. Use regex. Make sure you create a new View to not butcher your primary All Web Site Data view.
