SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
I added my sitemap to google search console but its not discovered yet. But google seems to have manually crawled the site and its got all my product detail pages but it hasnt got:
- Homepage
- Collection pages (this not big deal)
- About Us
- Contact Us
- FAQs
When I go to google and search site://domain.com it only shows product pages.
Please can someone help? And please dont just put random line of code saying mark as solution, really looking for help.
Hi @svalkyrie23,
It sounds like you're experiencing issues with Google indexing specific pages of your site. Here are a few steps you can take to address this:
Check Your Sitemap: Ensure that your XML sitemap includes all the important pages you mentioned (Homepage, About Us, Contact Us, FAQs). If you're using a plugin like Yoast SEO, it should automatically generate a comprehensive sitemap for you.
Submit Sitemap to Google Search Console: Make sure you've submitted the correct sitemap URL in Google Search Console. You can do this by navigating to the 'Sitemaps' section in GSC and entering the URL of your sitemap.
Use the URL Inspection Tool: In Google Search Console, use the URL Inspection tool to check the status of the pages that are not indexed. This tool can provide insights into why certain pages are not being indexed and allow you to request indexing for those pages.
Check for Errors: Look for any errors or warnings in the 'Indexing' section of Google Search Console. This section will show you if there are any issues preventing Google from indexing your pages correctly.
Be Patient: Sometimes, it can take a while for Google to crawl and index all the pages on your site. Continue to monitor the progress in Google Search Console.
For more detailed guidance, you can refer to this beginner's guide to Google Search Console.
You may also provide the URL/website address so I can check it for you.
It seems that Google has indexed the product pages but not your home page and a few other key pages. So your next steps could be to first check if your pages are blocked by robots.txt or not. Also, you can use the URL inspection tool in Google Search Console to check the non-indexed URLs and submit an indexing request. Next, update the sitemap, make sure all your important pages are in your XML sitemap and resubmit the same in Google Search Console.
