I've noticed that Google is indexing two pages for our products, the standard product page AND the /*?view=quick page. The /*?view=quick page looks awful! It's stripped of all design and it gives the website a bad name and look.
What's the best way to have Google not index this quick view page?
I know that I can't change the robot.txt or the sitemap.xml. What other options are there?
You can temporarily block URL's from Google indexing from within Google Search Console. But if you want to permanently do it, it would be best to do it through the robots.txt file or the .htaccess file.
I've read that there is NO access to Shopify's robots.txt file or the .htaccess file. 😞
A temporary block might be the answer, but it seems pretty time consuming considering the number of products we carry.
You can use our app: https://apps.shopify.com/sitemap-noindex-manager to block these pages from Google 🙂
