Google Merchant Center / Google Ads - Misrepresentation

My website is https://mankave.store

I have been for about 4 months working tirelessly to try and get this account approved on GMC. I even hired help from Fiverr, and I've posted on this board multiple times. The guy from Fiverr seems to have been no help, in-fact, he instructed I create a new account and close down the old account, which I was concerned about and may have possibly triggered a more egregious suspension, but I'm not sure.

If my account was permanently suspended or banned from Google Merchant Center, I wouldn't have the option to appeal or review the suspension would I? Google Shopping's support doesn't seem to indicate I have been, they've commented and said everything looks good and don't know why it keeps coming back suspended and that they would have to escalate the ticket... This has happened many times though without ever actually achieving anything.

Previously when I asked for help on this topic I was told that the automatic currency conversion was not allowed, so I disabled that thinking hopefully that was the reason, but a new review just shows I'm still suspended for misrepresentation.

Can anyone take a look or help me out with this?

Hi @ManKaveStore

It sounds like you're facing persistent issues with Google Merchant Center (GMC) approval, likely due to policy compliance related to misrepresentation. Here’s what you can do:

1-Review GMC Policies Thoroughly: Make sure you’re fully compliant with GMC policies. Focus on the Misrepresentation Policy — it generally relates to transparency issues, like:

  • Incomplete or misleading contact information.
  • Lack of clear return and refund policies.
  • Product information not matching your website.

2-Website Audit:

  • Contact Information: Ensure you provide a physical address, phone number, and email contact clearly on your site.
  • Return/Refund Policy: Add comprehensive return and refund policies in an easy-to-find location.
  • Product Details: Ensure that product details on your website match what's submitted to GMC without discrepancies.

3-Suspension Appeal Status:

  • Permanent Suspension: If your GMC account were permanently suspended, it would clearly state that "your account is permanently suspended" without an option for review. Since you mention Google support is escalating your case, it means there's still a possibility for reinstatement.
  • Escalate via Support: Since Google support mentioned escalating, you should keep following up with the assigned case. Provide any documentation they require and ensure your site is fully compliant while waiting.

4-Fixing Misrepresentation Issues:

  • Currency Conversion: It’s good that you disabled automatic currency conversion. Also, ensure prices are consistent throughout your site.
  • Transparency and Trustworthiness: Use clear and consistent branding, logos, and messaging. Avoid stock product descriptions that might seem copied from other sites.

5-Technical Check:

  • Structured Data: Validate structured data for products using Google's Rich Results Test tool.
  • Merchant Center Diagnostics: Check the Diagnostics tab in GMC for any detailed issues highlighted.

6-Request Another Manual Review: Once you make changes, use the GMC interface to request another manual review.

Let me know if you need specific guidance on making any of these changes!

I hope my answer is helpful 🙂
