SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
Every time i try to start a new store with shopify, google merchant center always flags my websites for misrepresentation. I have resolved this issue on some of my previous shopify stores but am not able to resolve this matter anymore. I am also getting a notice from google that my website or online store needs improvement. My website is TheBasicSignShop.com any help to get this resolved would be appreciated.
One of the big issues is that you have text on them images, yes you are selling banner signs. But it is recommended that you show an image like this:
While yes, the above also has text, Google will not think this is text added after the image was taken, in other words photoshopped.
So I recommend you create a picture of the real product with sample text on the product.
Make sure to add your business address, email, phone, business hours, in the footer of all pages.
Do not use a US post office address. Make sure you use an address where you are located, meaning stitting behind an computer.
You may have a lot more issues so make sure to check:

I changed all the product images and deleted all the images that had text, I had my trade name, email, phone number, and address in the contact information link of my website and added my business hours in that section. I requested a review just for the Website or online store needs improvement issue and not the misrepresentation issue after I made the changes and google completed a manual review and is still flagging my website for needs improvement. Do I need to fix the misrepresentation issue first and then fix the improvement issue or is there something else that would need to be changed that’s causing this issue?
Please note checking a website for all possible reasons for suspension is a big task, hence why I shared the policies with you, so that you can check.
Hi
After visiting your website, here are a few suggestions:
- Add categories for your products
- Add a dedicated home page
- Improve the UI/UX of your website
- Add product data as metafields rather than in the description of products ("These banners are made on 10oz banner fabric with grommets for easy hanging and printed with red copy on white background."- This can be converted to a metafield")
- I also suggest adding more product pictures (include a human holding the sign if possible)
Also if you're using the same email ID for previously flagged stores, Google might look at your history and flag you down.
- Ensure that your product data on the landing page and product data you submit to Google are accurate.
- Request a review only after you have thoroughly completed an audit of your entire site (no broken links, missing text/images, products categorized, checkout secured, etc)
- For further proof, include a review section on your website (it helps Google AND customers know that you're trustable)
I hope this helps!
