Hi everyone,

I can't seem to get my content api to multiple countries. I've read in the documentation this isn't possible. Is there a workaround?

It depends on the app or feed management tools you are using.

For example on my application you can submit a text delimited file then add multiple countries by going to Google Merchant Center > Products > Feeds > click on your feed > settings > add the countries.

However it's rather pointless. Using Google's currency conversion will only give you 10% or less of potential traffic. If you are serious about advertising you need to localize. IE have the same language and currency as the target country, in this case you get the full potential of traffic.

Hope this helps.

Make sure you only use 1 data feed solution. Submitting multiple feeds may get you suspended if you are submitting the same product more than once.

The best practice is to stick with one solution. So if you want to use manual data, that is fine, but remove any other feeds.

Also remember manually adding data, which means you need to manually update the prices and availability. So if you have a lot of products, it is best to use an automated system.

Content API does not allow a product to have multiple countries. The workaround is to submit a new id for every country.

Shopify's official app and our Google Shopping Feed app follows a similar approach. product ids we use have the following format shopify_{country}_{product}_{variant}

Hi Alex,

Using an app like AdScale will enable you to advertise your Google Shopping campaigns across multiple countries. It will also save you the hassle of creating and managing your Merchant Center or Google Shopping campaigns, everything is done automatically using AI.

You can learn more about it in this video:

AdScale is the best way to advertise on Facebook & Google because we use the power of your store data (that they don’t have) to run highly targeted ads and get an average ROAS of 10X.

There are three options

1) If the app you are using has the option, toggle on multiple countries. Contact the app support or check the documentation

2) If the app has the option, toggle on multi currency, such as my application which allows you to pull the currency for each target country

3) Use the default data feed and enable the multi countries. Go to Google Merchant Center > products > feeds > click on the feed > settings > add the countries (only works with static feeds, such as my application)

Hello Emmanuel, I'm super desperate, hope you can help me. I am actually selling in the US through Google, I synched my products through shopify, so I don't have a manual feed. Now I want to sell in other countries. I added these countries through Merchant Center in shipping services and added the shipping fee to each country with the right currency, but my products are disapproved because of Missing value (shipping). WHY? It says the source is Content API, but the products in my web are available for these countries with the right shipping fee. Thanks in advance!

Go to Google Merchant Center > products > diagnostics and check what the issue is.

Most likely the currency of the shipping prices do not match the currency of the feed.

However it is all guesses as I can look into your account.

I have my products set up to see in the UK in pounds, but we also want to see in the US in dollars - if there a way to create another content API with a different currency?

To create content API, you need to learn the Shopify API, and yes you can pull that data using REST or GraphQL, then create a Content API setup.

However I'm guessing you are more interested in a rebuild app: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Hello,

my google merchant account is suspended due to "currency", however after contacting google, they are claiming the following:

Please be advised that as the input method you are using is content API, remove the item ID from the Content API.
Please find the below example for your reference:
Title: Gift Card $95.00
Item ID: shopify_US_4613598838869_32101614551125
If you have any queries related to Content API, please contact Content API team as Content API is out of my purview. I hope you understand our limitations.
I am not sure how to remove item ID from content API.

Any help is appreciated 🙂

Hi Alex,

Content API doesn't enable to replicate items for multiple countries within a single feed. If you want to submit your Content API product data to multiple countries, you'll need to upload the product multiple times, once for each targeted country-language pair through the API. Here, you will find more info about it.

If you want to save time, this Google ads and Shopify app do the work for you. Using an app like this one will help you to advertise your Google Shopping campaigns across multiple countries. It will create, manage and automate your Merchant Center or Google Shopping campaigns.
