Google Merchant limited performance due to missing identifiers

Hi,

I am getting the message that my ads are limited because I am missing identifiers mpn, brand, or gtin. I spoke with Google who told me that I need to set my identifier exists to false/no via my API, but am unsure where that identifier lives to update it. It is not in the bulk updater for Google fields on Shopify or anywhere else I can find on my Shopify Admin.

Can someone point me to where that field lives? My ads have tanked because of this and I need to get this fixed ASAP?

Thanks!

When submitting product identifiers the following rule applies.

If a manufacturer has assigned a bar code, then submit brand, mpn (if available), GTIN and set identifier exists to yes.

If the manufacturer has not assigned a bar code, then remove the values brand, mpn, gtin and set identifier exists to no.

I am having the same issue with Shopify Google and Google Merchants. I mostly use supplier GTIN codes, and sometimes we create our own codes via VEND if there is a variant or missing GTIN code. However very recently I have many many products (47%) flagged up by Shopify AND Google Merchants DESPITE me having a correct supplier GTIN code. I can manually try and reset the codes in Shopify, by adding a new custom type etc, this then resets correctly but after five minutes it returns to a flagged up issue. I have no idea what is going on. Any advice, am I alone? Thanks.

Barcodes can only be assigned by manufacturers, not resellers. That is most likely the reason you are getting flagged. If the manufacturer has not assigned any barcodes, remove brand and gtin and mpn values and set identifier exists to no.
