SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
I'm looking for people to talk with about their struggles or triumphs with Product Listings Ads and what tools and techniques have lead to greater results. I work in them all day, and I sometimes wonder if someone out there has as tool or technology I haven't yet used to better build and compete in this market.
Have you worked with other product marketing systems? What has been most effective?
If you work in eCommerce, you’re probably familiar with competitor research and analysis. Pretty much every retailer will want to check what other businesses are offering. But have you looked specifically at the competitors in Shopping on Google?
You might find that there are shops and retailers competing for promotion that you might not have expected. Or that specific products will underperform, due to the different tactics being employed by your competitors. For example, if you’re displaying a product with a 500ml volume against competitors selling smaller amounts, then your item will seem more expensive. And many customers might go elsewhere without even realising any price difference is down to different sizes.
There are a few ways to look at competitive research for Shopping Ads on Google, and truly understand who you’re up against.
There are third party research tools, such as the PLA Research by SEMRush, which lets you search for adverts by competitors simply by entering their website address. Obviously, each of these services will depend on how much information is collected by the provider. This is my favorite tool for PLA research. With a paid version of SEMrush – or a free trial – you can see actual PLA data from your competitors. Start by searching for your product in Google. See what competitors pop up. Then enter those competitors into SEMrush and you can see all the Product Listing Ads they running, and the keywords that trigger those ads.
Thank you for your tips about PLA research. I'm looking to use the listing management tool from Semrush however if Moz Local or Bright Local is a better overall product, then I'd be happy to jump ship for the additional benefits. Other than pricing, is there much of a difference between companies that do listing management? I know some include data aggregators but beyond that, is it just a matter of preference?
Also, i just checked semrush plan, with a Free, Pro, or Guru account, you will be limited to only 10 rows of results when you query a report in this tool. With a Business account, you will have full access to PLA Research reports. So to use PLA research from semrush, we need to buy business plan for full access , the price for business plan is really expensive ($449/month)
I can't speak to Moz Local or Bright Local, but I'm currently using SEMRush and my complaint is that some listings take forever to update via SEMRush. I've got about 8, including some of the big ones like Yelp and Yellow Pages, that have been processing for weeks.
Semrush business plan pretty extensive and does a good job. Most processed pretty quickly, others took some time. It's a monthly price to post/maintain your information that rarely changes. But you can buy semrush business account from group buy service to save your budget, you don't need to pay full price for one month
oh well, how can you buy semrush business account with group buy? it is really smart idea
You can check this group buy sell semrush business account, they are sellling semrush business account for just $50.
I can say there are definitely pros and cons if you use account from group buy:
Pros:
access to semrush business account for relatively cheap
Cons:
Account is not private, it is shared account so if you add project, another one can see it
