Google reports a sudden increase in 404-errors on our website

Hi,

starting from Oktober, we have experienced a sudden, but steady increase in 404-errors from google without having made any particular updates made to our shop. Since 21.10.2017, everyday google found a few more 404-errors. Examining the links, I could not see where they were coming from. Does anybody else have the same problem?

Thanks,

Hi Vincent,

I've checked your website and discovered that meta tags include invalid links. For example on https://poilei.co.uk/pages/instagram-to-shop I've found:

<meta property="og:url" content="https:///pages/instagram-to-shop">

and

<link rel="canonical" href="https:///pages/instagram-to-shop">

Hope that helps,
Lukasz

Hey Vincent,

I've also found another source of 404s on your website. There are some broken links between product variants.

For example on https://poilei.co.uk/collections/all-shoes/products/ankle-boot-lilly-black I got 404 when I clicked on gold variant https://poilei.co.uk/collections/all-shoes/products/ankle-boot-lilly-gold. I've also noticed that there is a valid gold variant avaiable at https://poilei.co.uk/collections/all-shoes/products/ankle-boots-lilly-gold. The only diferrence between the 2 links is one letter "s" - "boot" vs. "boots". If you try to navigate from gold to black or blue and you will get another 404s.

Let me know if you need a full report on invalid links or any further help with fixing this problem.

Cheers,
Lukasz
