google shopping - "This product group doesn't have any submitted products"

I have added the google app, and google now appears in the sales channel.

I have created a "smart shopping campaign" in the Marketing section of the Google sales channel.  This says "active".

When I go into my google ads account I see that it has indeed created a smart google shopping campaign, however it is getting zero impressions.  If I click into the campaign, and look at "products" in "product groups" a message pops up to say "This product group doesn't have any submitted products".

When I go into the Merchant Centre and look at feeds, there is one feed with the feed name of "Content API", and in "destination" it says "free listings".  If I look at "all products" they all say "active" but the "program" is "free listings".

So it looks to me like the product feed has only been submitted for "free listings" and not for a shopping feed...?  Or is it supposed to look like that?

Has anyone got the google shopping campaign working using the google app in shopify, if so what does it say for the feed in merchant centre?  Does it say "free listings" only?

Go to Google Merchant Center (GMC) > Growth > Manage Programs > enable shopping ads.

Then in your data feed app, make sure you enable shopping, alternatively you can try editing in GMC > products > feeds > click on the feed > edit destinations and add shopping ads.

Thanks, I set up a google ads account and a merchant account, then figured the shopify google app did the rest.  But apparently it didn't do that one step of setting up setting up shopping ads in merchant centre so that's what was holding it up.

I was having a similar problem. I do have Google Ads checked under destinations, but it only applied to a few items. I have 40 items that its not showing up for. How do I get those to be active for Google Ads so they will appear when I am building my campaign?

Contact Shopify, to push all products again. Or if you are using a different app, make sure all data is re-submitted.
