Google Shopping - Stock availability no longer auto updating

Hello,

This morning I received a warning from Google Merchant Centre that the stock availability fields in my product feed aren't accurate when compared to the landing pages, we use the Shopify built Google Shopping app to create our feed and manage the ads on Google Adwords.

I've checked the examples they provided in the warning email and confirm that the stock availability fields are inaccurate, many of these products have been sold out for weeks but the shopping feed is telling Google that they've available to buy.

I've checked the product settings to ensure that the inventory is being tracked and that the product isn't set to being available to purchase even when sold out and everything is set correctly - i.e. inventory tracked, stop selling when stock depleted.

In Merchant Centre, I can download a report detailing the affected products and it's pretty much our entire product feed of some 2,000 products so I'm guessing this report is detailing products which haven't had a stock update for some period of time.

I can't find anyone having a similar issue on the community forums and there doesn't seem to be any contact details for support for the app per-se so I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Neil.

Contact Shopify support directly for this issue. It seems that the app is not pushing the updates to your account. And most likely there is a technical issue.

Hey Fumma,

We are here to cater to your query!

Our Google Express Integration app offers real time data syncing, whatever changes you make in your products, they will be easily synced from Shopify to the marketplace in  real time.

Google Express app connects steadily to your Google Shopping APIs and provides real time syncing of your data.

If you make any inventory modification or if any order is imported to your store, the app synchronizes all these changes in real-time so as to prevent your products from over-selling.

Apart from that Google Express Integration app also provides some other features-

  1. Google Express app enable the seller to integrate all the products, orders, inventory levels and more across all Google platforms.
  2. Selling on Google Express grows your products’ visibility even more, hence increase your sales and help the sellers to expand their business.
  3. To avoid the one by one product upload, the app makes the process easier with the Bulk Product Upload feature. It helps the seller to bulk upload products across different platforms such as Google Merchant Center, Google Shopping, and Google Express (only for the Shopping Actions approved sellers).
  4. The app provides the compatibility to your products to be shipped through 3P logistics apps. The app integrates well with Shipworks, ShipStation, Shipwire, etc. for the trouble-free shipping of your orders.

You can get the Google Express Integration app from here. Give it a try!

Same problem here, did you solved it? if yes, how?

I contacted Shopify customer support about this, it took a bit of pointing out the issue but they set out a full resync which solved some of the issues.

Edit: I should also add that whoever you contact at Shopify might try to just get you to use another app to create a shopping feed for Google, keep insisting they fix what is broken and provide clear instances of where the shopping feed status value contradicts your inventory value in your Shopify admin.

Did anyone else find a solve for this using the Google App? We are having the same issue with the feed showing in stock, while the variant is out of stock

@jachilles03 this can be caused by invalid structured data.

Make sure your structured data is valid, you can check here: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

If you have found it is incorrect, you can update it using the guide here: Adding Structured Data to Shopify for Google Merchant & Facebook (JSON-LD) | FeedArmy

Hey,

Yeah all of the structured data is showing the variant out of stock/in stock depending on the status, followed this integration:

https://business.czarto.com/2016/12/13/adding-schema-org-microdata-to-your-shopify-product-pages-to-...

It just seems the feed isnt picking it up from Shopify to the merchant center.

I think the issues is in the product-json which has  "available": {{ product.available | json }}, and it still shows  "available": true, for variants out of stock.

Has anyone found a solve for that?

Best to contact the person on the article you are using the code from, for coding issues.

Or alternatively use my code, which is correct and working. make sure to remove any other old structured data.

Once you have updated the website and it is correct. Google will take a few days to update. This is because Google does not check every page every day, but over a span of 30 days.

If after a week your number of issues did not drop, then the structured data and or website layout is not correct as per Google requirements.
