SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
Hi all
I am in need of desperate help - I have been facing the Misrepresentation issue with google merchant centre and now out of all ideas on what to do next.
Please can someone help guide me in what needs to be updated for Google to pass this check? any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
@pixelhubmedia
Google is very strict about ensuring transparency, but we can work through this step by step.
Key Areas to Review-
1. Business Information Accuracy
Ensure your website has a clear About Us, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Refund/Return Policy.
Your business name, address, and contact details should match across your website, Merchant Center, and any social profiles.
2. Product & Pricing Transparency
Ensure all product details (titles, descriptions, images, and pricing) match exactly between your website and Merchant Center.
No misleading discounts (e.g., showing inflated price cuts).
3. Website Trust & Security
Your website should have SSL (HTTPS) enabled.
Ensure there are no broken links, no placeholder pages, and a working checkout process.
4. Policy Compliance
Google requires clear shipping and return policies (including timelines and conditions).
If you sell restricted items, ensure they comply with Google's guidelines.
5. Fix Feed Issues in Merchant Center
Go to Merchant Center > Diagnostics and check for specific errors or policy violations.
Update product feeds regularly and ensure correct schema markup.
6. Immediate Steps to Take:
Conduct a Thorough Website Audit:
Request a Manual Review:
Once all issues are addressed, submit a request for review through your Merchant Center account. Provide a detailed summary of the changes made to demonstrate your commitment to compliance.Feel free to reach out if you need any assistance. Thanks
Best Regards,
Akshay
Misrepresentation can happen for many reasons, like if your store doesn’t have a clear refund policy or shipping details page, inconsistent product information, misleading claims, or if your business identity is unclear or misleading.
Apart from that your account can get flagged with Misrepresentation even if your product prices, descriptions or other details don’t match across your website and google listings.
I did go through your website and as such I wasn’t able to pinpoint any reason. The worst part is that even Google doesn’t offer direct support for this issue.
Best case is to check this resource on misrepresentation from their side, and resolve any issue that might be causing it: https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/6020955?hl=en
Hope this helps!
