Hey, @aymen32!

Aria here, I'm on the Social Care team at Shopify.

I'd be happy to take a look. Can you please share the URL for your store?

What sort of marketing have you done already, specifically? What criteria are you using to target potential customers?

I look forward to helping you out.

Hi @aymen32 ,

It's great you're getting lots of traffic to your store!  In terms of immediate priorities, I would do two things:

1. Add collection pages to your site

Right now, all your products are in one giant collection, which can be difficult to navigate!

2. Add Analytics

Once your collection pages are set up, add Google Analytics to your site so you can see where your traffic is going.  It'll give you the info you need to make refinements to your page.

Best,

Entaice

Hey, @aymen32!

Thank you for providing your store URL.

I recommend you do a bit more work on your store before you spend more money on ads. Potential customers will click on ads but if the store doesn't inspire trust when they arrive, they won't complete the sale.

I'm not sure where you got your slider image from but it has strange watermarks on it. It looks like you're using the image without permission:

19-09-up73m-ep6h8

There are some spelling and grammar errors which I would correct. I would make sure titles have capital letters at the start:

19-09-j8ljc-r17po

There seems to be a discrepancy in the name of your store as well. In the logo, you're calling it Omegamart but in the paragraph above, it says Omegamarkt. Professional copywriting is an important part of building a brand. Make sure you get others to proof-read everything and check out our blog post, Are These 6 Common Copywriting Mistakes Costing You Sales?

I agree with the previous poster, your site will be easier to navigate if your products are sorted into Collections and you attach those Collections to Drop-down menus.

Cosmetics should have well-written product descriptions. When I go to this product, I'm not sure what it is or why I should buy it. After reading the description, I should feel like I really need it. The image doesn't look good on this one either.

I recommend you have a proper Contact Us page. The easier it is for customers to have their questions answered, the more likely you are to close the sale.

This post has more suggestions on how to create a professional-looking store.

When you've had a chance to work on things some more, make sure you do the free Facebook ads courses on Shopify Academy. Targeting ads is a bit of an art form. You need to make sure you're bringing the right traffic and not just any traffic. This blog post gives a brief description but I'd definitely do the course if you're new to this.

I would also work on building a brand following, rather than relying on ads alone.

Let me know how you get on with that. Being an entrepreneur is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning but there are lots of people in this community who are happy to help out and point you in the right direction.

Hey, @RegRud!

Aria here!

Your domain is in the expiration period. If you'd like to keep it, please go to your GoDaddy account to renew it.

If you'd prefer to remove it from your Shopify account, you can do that by going to Online Store > Domains. Let me know how you get on as I'd love to take a look at your store to give you some feedback once you've got that sorted out.

Hey, @RegRud!

Thank you for confirming your store URL.

I took a look at your store and I'm happy to give you feedback.

I would recommend you use a logo to help build your brand, rather than sticking with plain text. If you don't have the budget for a designer at the moment, you could make your own using Hatchful. You've also got your 'Get 10% off' tab hiding part of your store name:

19-10-zns9z-o0xmr

This next image is looking pixelated which indicates it's too small for the space. The image and text are both being cut off as well:

High-resolution images work best. Here are some guidelines to help you out with the size:

These sizes should work both for the slideshow and the image with text overlay options. You can find more guidance in this document.

Your site will flow better if your product and collection images are a uniform size and the same style. These three images are very different from each other:

Your product and collection images can be any size up to 4472 x 4472 px, or 20 megapixels. Files need to be smaller than 20 MB to be added to Shopify.

High-resolution photos look more polished and professional to your customers. For square product images, a size of 2048 x 2048 px usually looks best. You can find out more about image best practises in this guide

I think creating urgency is a great thing but it's best to be subtle about it. Check out this blog post for tips on how to do that professionally. The popup on the bottom left is distracting and doesn't look genuine:

I would edit the number of collections per row so that it looks balanced. If you had six collections, it would look good with 3 per row but as it is, I think 5 in the one row would look best:

It would be great to have a drop-down menu to get to each collection, instead of just one menu going to your collections list page:

I like the fact you have a contact form but I'd suggest putting a physical address or mailing address on that page as well. It will make your store look less anonymous and boost confidence with your customers. It's also worth adding a chat function to your store to make it quick and easy for customers to reach out with their questions. The Facebook Messenger Channel is a great option, or if you're an iPhone user, you could consider Shopify Chat

Make sure your refund policy is specific to your store. If you just use the template, you are mentioning products you don't sell. It is just intended to be an example policy. A shipping policy page would be a good idea as well. At the moment, customers won't know how much your shipping costs without going all the way to checkout. They will also be curious to know if you ship worldwide or just certain countries, how long shipping is likely to take, etc. In the Header menu of the free Shopify themes, there is an announcement bar option. Some people use that to announce something like, 'FREE worldwide shipping on orders over $50' or whatever your policy is:

Other than that, what sort of marketing plan have you come up with? Have you identified your target audience and how to reach them? I recommend you start to build a community around your brand with a Facebook and Instagram page. You can link them to your footer by going to Online Store > Themes > Customize > Theme Settings > Social Media.

Hi!

I too have high traffic but no sales. I have done small advertising campaigns with GOOGLE, FACEBOOK and PINTEREST. I have about 150/day to my site. I had SHOPIFY check it technically and said all was fine. I even had 45 at one time - nothing.

My store is:

www.silverbeautyproducts.com

I just installed a Wheel of Fortune game and am trying make it the landing page or big at home page. I have also offered discount coupons on all my advertising.

I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to invest in more bells and whistles, I would rather spend that on advertising. However if I can’t get a sale that may be moot.

HELP!

Hi!

Thank you for providing such good info in this space!
I tell you that I recently migrated my store, until a few months ago was selling in a marketplace.
I'm having a very high percentage of rebound, no sales. I did several campaigns aimed at Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, aimed at the public we are looking for.
We have optimized the SEO of the page, also the size of the images, and improved the navigability, but we do not know what is happening.
My address is https://olaFan.myshopify.com.
I would appreciate some tips or suggestions!

Hi @OlaFan ,

Not sure if you are still looking for suggestions/help on this but I checked out your store and have a few suggestions for you below.

While there can be many possible reasons why most visitors coming to your website do not end up buying anything from your store, one of the most common reasons is the lack of post visit engagement with store visitors after they leave your store.

As you would agree, most visitors are not going to buy a product from your store on their first visit. Research by leading companies like Google shows that it takes about 10-20 engagements/interactions with a potential customer before she can make a purchase decision. While most of us try very hard to drive traffic to our stores by being active on social media, running paid ads etc., we forget to re-engage the store visitors after the initial visit, thereby leaving a lot of money on the table.

Based on my assessment of your store, I can suggest the following which may potentially improve the sales conversion for you:

1. Currently, I don't see you are capturing the email addresses of the website visitors or inviting them to sign up for a newsletter/membership program. Email lists can be extremely helpful in building a top of the mind recall amongst your potential customers by carefully sending them genuinely useful emails with timely promotional offers. You can try using Mailchimp for building your mailing lists and nurturing over time.

2. Many store visitors these days are concerned about their privacy and may not be comfortable in sharing their email address with you immediately. A great way to overcome this limitation is by leveraging the push notification technology. Using push notifications, you can send relevant content/promotions to yoru store visitors later, without requiring them to share their email address with you. Note that you DON'T need a mobile app or anything specific for this. You just need to install the script for one of the Push Notification service providers like Onesignal etc. and you are good to go! I have seen e-commerce store owners growing their sales exponentially with this simple technique. Do give it a try!

3. Not sure if you have already tried this, but have you thought about running retargeting campaigns on Facebook, Instagram or Google Display Network? Given you are in the beauty category, Instagram can be particularly helpful! Probably instead of using 100% of your ads budget on driving new traffic to your store, you can spare some of the budget for running carefully crafted retargeting campaigns on Facebook etc.

I hope you will find my suggestions above helpful and worth trying. Let me know if you need any additional help!

Hi @OlaFan
,

Thank you for your suggestions. Any information is always helpful. I have a
couple of ways to capture emails, and most of them are non-invasive -
although I like the fact that you are reinforcing some of my own ideas.

I like the retargeting idea. Right now I don't have a lot of people to
re-target (less than a month old), but I am gaining a lot through smaller
campaigns and will certainly implement your idea - probably next month. I
will look at OneSignal to see what they are about.

Thank you again for reviewing my site, and having great constructive
feedback.
