SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
1) I have products which I sell individually, with GTINS, however I sometimes group the items together as one item and then I can't use the same GTIN (duplicate), and so I believe I need to have on my feed "is_bundle" to allow it to work? Feed is from Content API and have no idea how to set this up. Bundles are so key for my business.
2) Similarly, when I try to set up a promotion in the merchant centre, I believe you need to add a promotion id, and also mark any item you want linked to that promotion as "promotion_id", but again I don't know how to do this since moving to Shopify.
Hello @Ehson,
This is Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.
1. To indicate that a group of products is being sold as a bundle, you can use the "is_bundle" attribute in your Google Shopping feed. This attribute is a Boolean value (true/false) that should be set to "true" for the product that is a bundle.
To set up the "is_bundle" attribute in your Content API feed, you can check the documentation provided by Google. It's usually a matter of adding the attribute to your existing feed file and indicating the appropriate value for each product.
2. To create a promotion in the Google Merchant Center, you'll need to set up a promotion in your Google Ads account first. Once you've done that, you can link the promotion to your Google Merchant Center account.
To add a promotion ID to your product data, you can use the "promotion_id" attribute. This attribute should contain the ID of the promotion you've created in Google Ads. You can add this attribute to your Shopify product data by editing the product's metadata.
Hope this helps
Gina
You can add all of the data manually by going to Google Merchant Center > products > all products > hover over the product > click on the edit icon.
You can also add this data in bulk using feed rules: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en
Setting products with the same barcode to is bundle = true will not always work to resolve duplicate barcodes.
I've spent hours googling about this is-bundle but I can not find it as a field or anywhere else in the google merchant feed. Is this a custom field?
Not all apps support all attributes. It depends how good the app is developed.
For example https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds
Supports the values.
You could also add the data using feed rules or supplement feeds within Google Merchant Center.
Thanks, that really helps!
Hi @Ehson
You can add "is_bundle" to the Google merchant center manually and the "promotion_ids"; however, it will be best if you can use the app Nabu for Google Shopping.
