SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
My Shopify store specializes in ethnic hand-embroidered jewelry pieces, with each design and pattern being one of a kind. For example, two products might have similar designs but feature different embroidery patterns. Occasionally, there are multiple pieces that look similar.
However, I’m facing some challenges:
Could you kindly share your insights on potential improvements and ways to increase efficiency?
I am not sure if you tried duplicating products, and just edit the information that is different.
Make sure that you edit the Search engine portion
When you have more data available, you can actually see the best sellers in your Shopify admin. Follow this instructions here.
Hi @liu_x_trujillo1 👋
increase efficiency
Generally ask ONE specific scoped question at a time. https://community.shopify.com/c/blog/how-to-get-support-from-the-community/ba-p/1399408
Recognize the common experience: if you think it's a problem then google it ,or research these forums, someone has very likely trod that path.
Communication skills and problem statements - Learning to narrow down the scope for a specific part of any process or exact substeps or knowing the terminology is MASSIVE time saving tool.
Recognize both of those asks are incredibly broad processes each with it's own very broad question(s) which will in turn really only get broad vague answers.
These are more on the tech side but most of the points stand: https://stackoverflow.com/help/how-to-ask , http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
#1 opportunity costs,
See the shopify-app for phones for taking photos and making listings maybe? tradeoff: if you have a good camera consider initial listing with phone-camera then batching high-res images later but consider at which step you publish and show to customers.
https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shopify-admin/shopify-app
In a magic world the moment a product is photographed with any camera the product is created and image uploaded ✨📸
If editing is time consuming, that is not a shopify problem, that is a problem for the hardware or image editing software/process you are using and it is through that which automation should be researched.
Also
Make a dedicated space to take photos less time more consistency (though your photos look like your already doing this), have a defined naming convention for products image files so there is no future confusion (and slight bump in SEO).
Invest the time early in macros etc etc such as cropping or background removal etc in relevant tools that run on ALL the files in a batch at once; or use shopify image editing automation apps.
For lots of products use spreadsheet workflows, batch product listings data entry using CSV import, do not use a shopify admin GUI, or the shopify-app for phones?, except for minor updates or one offs.
Advanced build custom form workflow such as with google-forms etc all to build the CSV
#2 Scaling difficulties: It's hard to identify a best seller that can be mass-produced and sell in larger quantities.
💥 Hottake: Scale may not be your issue, money is the issue: your current prices are too low or you should be making even deeper specialty or custom personalized luxury goods.
See A,B,C analysis or other shopify reports. https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/inventory/abc-analysis for smaller plans apps are required.
Other than doing your analytics homework there's no where enough detail or time for an outsider to give you a guiding star.
mass-produced and sell in larger quantities
This is effectively asking "how make more money" which every business person wants but doesn't solve problems where the business meets the road.
What sells at low volume as a "best seller" is NOT a solid indicator at what will sale at scale; especially if it's a niche good where the audience is purposefully looking for novelty.
💸Regardless of "best seller" at some point need to do a live run of "mass" production so you have real end to end costs understood that spreadsheets and quotes NEVER expose in advance so the actual margins have concrete numbers not made up projections: See manufacturing forums.
🐲🗺 Notice how the answers here are more of an overview with a TON of work to still do because there's not enough detail in the ask to give specific guidance.
Which is somewhat unfortunately necessary to get someone on the path to dial in specifics while being incredibly inefficient.
