How can I track customer activity and total sales on my blog links?

Hi everyone,

I would like to know the number of visitors, clicks count, successful checkout, and total sales collected from my selection customers via each blogs link. I have been making use of the online store conversion report, but it doesn't provide the option to show total sales information. Would anyone be able to give some idea on how should I get such information via store reports or Shopify API? Thank you.

You can set up Google analytics for your store

Hi @KvChow ,

This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App. Based on your question, I think you should try Google Analytics 4.

By using GA4 events and eCommerce function, you will be able to identify the total number of conversions happening on your blog posts and the total revenue share.

Since I don’t have enough context about how your website is operated, I can give you assumptions of how it should be done.

  1. You added Product Details (including ATC button) on your blog posts
  2. Each ATC button should lead directly to the checkout page so it will be easier to track
  3. On each ATC, please add UTM parameters. It will help when you check the traffic of checkout page and identify the source of the traffic (from blogs)
  4. Set the “Purchase" action on your checkout page as a “conversion event"
  5. Once you’ve done all the steps above, you can simply access your checkout page on GA4, find the source from blog posts and check how many conversion events you have. Each conversion event can be assigned by an amount of revenue generated by GA4. Then you will know the total sales you have from blog posts.

My suggestion may not be the final solution for your case. But I think it will give you an overview of how it can be done with Google Analytics 4.

I hope this will be helpful to you!
