How do I get my website to display in browser searches properly?

Hi,

I'm currently trying to get my website to display in browser searches properly.  Currently all the pages are just listed separately in a search.

I have attached the example of what the search for my company leafandearth.com currently looks like when searched and an example of what I trying to achieve.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ross

Hey @LeafandEarth

Bo here from Shopify Support!

That is a really great question. I went and did some research into this and found that there is no way to choose which Sitelinks are shown in a Google search, they are chosen automatically by the Google algorithm based on the user query. Google has stated "We only show Sitelinks for results when we think they’ll be useful to the user. If the structure of your site doesn’t allow our algorithms to find good Sitelinks, or we don’t think that the Sitelinks for your site are relevant for the user’s query, we won’t show them."

There is no direct way to get Sitelinks for your website. You can’t just log into Google’s Search Console (Previously Webmaster Tools), flick a switch and get Sitelinks. There is, however, a fantastic guide to doing everything you possibly can to get Sitelinks for your site here. Give it a read through and best of luck!

All the Best,

Bo

Here’s the thing you must keep in mind to display your website in browser searches properly:

  1. Cookies and cache should be cleared.
  2. Reset the zoom level
  3. Reset the font size to its smallest setting.
  4. Reset the page's appearance.
  5. Make sure JavaScript isn't disabled.
  6. Make sure your computer's clock is adjusted correctly.
  7. Disable any plugins or hardware acceleration that are causing problems.
  8. Please report the website.

It's called "Sitelinks" and google generates it automatically. so you can't do it manually but make sure headers, menubar, and footer links are all ok. it may help 🙂

You can only submit a sitemap in Google search console. Google generates it based on its algo and there is no way to force Google to generate the rich results
