Hello everyone,
I have some questions about the GTIN stuff since they are required to get my products approved by Google.
I sell sneakers, so for each shoe/SKU, there are multiple GTINs to fill out (for each size).
Unfortunately, I haven't taken much care of it, and now I have the problem that I have some shoes listed with, for example, 5 different sizes, but only have 3 of these sizes still available.
So, I can't get the GTIN for the other 2 sizes since I need to scan them.
If I now only fill the GTINs for the 3 sizes I have left, would my products still get approved?
I also wouldn't like to delete the sizes from my shop since I'm regularly getting new sizes in, and clients can turn on notifications there when a new product gets back in stock.
Looking forward to your answers and thanks in advance! 🙂
Kind regards

This is an accepted solution.
Google does not check every product, and Google does not have data on every product.
Regarding errors, you might have warnings as well, which can show the banner notification.

Hey,
Google might take some time to completely remove the error messages which are showing currently.
Also, your products should be fine with the warnings as well.

Hi @JustinCoziness,
The variants with GTIN will still get approved. Those sizes that are out of stock (and you don't have the GTINs yet) - leave them for now. Because they are out of stock anyway - Google will not show those items for Google Shopping ads. Once you get them in stock, add in the GTINs and they will be approved.
Best,
Clarice
Yes, you can leave them, you may reach out to your distributor to get the remaining barcodes.
The only thing is that you will be limited by performance for the products without barcodes. Considering they are out of stock, that should not matter.
Hey JustinCoziness,
Ideally the products with different sizes should have different GTIN values.
But since you don't have GTINs for all the sizes, what you can do is leave the GTINs empty.
It's better to leave it empty rather than filling it up with incorrect values.
By leaving it empty, you will only get a warning but your products will not get disapproved in the Merchant Center.
Secondly, don’t submit GTINs in the restricted ranges.
Certain ranges of GTINs are restricted and should not be used by manufacturers or retailers. These restricted ranges have the prefixes 02, 04, or 2, and they are reserved for internal use by certain organizations.
We have a blog where we have mentioned all the GTIN errors and explained in detail about the solutions which you can try out and fix these errors ASAP.

Hello, thanks for your respond first of all @harsh_1729 @EmmanuelFlossie @claricelin
I have entered the GTINs for the Sizes i have available, so in my case ,,demoted : limited performance" means it just wont show the sold out sizes in Google Ads?
What's also wondering me, is that for some Products i haven't entered a GTIN at all but dont get the demoted limited performance error. What could be the reason for that?
Also when i save the GTINs i have ready, and save the changes, it first shows that everything is fine without any errors, but after some time the error showing up again.
When i take a look in the Google Merchant Center, at the top left corner is a red box saying "Resolve all issues regarding guidelines and settings that prevent your products from being showcased on Google.", but when i click on it, it says ,,No problems to be fixed here"
But im not able to close the red box for any reason.
When i click on Products -> Tab "examination required" Its showing me all the problems i have on my products though.
But anyways, at the end of the day my products should still be fine even its saying demoted performance ... correct?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make sure there wont be problems when i start my Google Ad Campagne.
Thanks a lot for your help y'all! 🙂
Have a nice evening and kind regards

The variants will get approved but will show a limited performance error message without GTIN's. We have built an app that not only provides Sneaker GTIN's but also optimizes other attributes for Google Merchant Center.
