How do I set up gift cards effectively?

How do you set up gift cards. Been trying to find out how to set up gift cards and I'm stumped.

Hi, @dwellwing!

@Lucid_Polygon shared a great Shopify help document all about gift cards. Are you running into a specific issue with adding gift cards to your store? I recommend focusing on the steps from our Adding Gift Cards help document (we also have a video tutorial which is easier to follow for some). An important thing to note is that before you can sell gift cards, you need to activate the gift card feature, and here's how to do that:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Gift cards.

2. Click Add gift card product.

Your first gift card is created immediately, but its status is set as draft by default.

Hey!

We actually just launched a free app that does this and more, our app allows users to select the greeting card plus add a personalized message, as well as a video greeting or images from their camera roll as part of their message. Then we provide you, the merchant, a PDF of the card w/ their order that you print and you include that in the box.  The receiver of the gift gets the nice greeting card and it also includes a QR code so they can scan and also see the complete digital message like if the sender decided to include a video greeting as well.

Our model is to charge the end customer 1.99 for this and then take .99 cents from that, we think its something consumers would like to pay for and then also gives the merchant additional revenue.  If you want to try this, we'd work with you until it suits your needs we're in beta right now so its a good time to get us to tailor it to what you need after you try it.
