SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
How do I change this name next to my favicon? I have the correct name, store details, and preferences. I want to change the "moeschiropractic.com" part.
Hi @Mo49
To change the name displayed next to your favicon in search results, you need to update the metadata and structured data for your website. Here's how to do it:
Use Organization schema to let Google know your business name. Add this to the <head> section of your theme.liquid:
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Organization",
"name": "Your Correct Business Name",
"url": "https://yourstoreurl.com",
"logo": "https://yourstoreurl.com/path-to-logo.png"
}
</script>
Changes might take time to reflect as Google needs to re-crawl your site.
Once you've added the structured data and requested Google to re-crawl your URL, everything should be set!
Our website Avada Commerce also has that schema markup as you can see here
Hope this can help!
Best regards,
Daisy
Hi @Mo49,
I understand that you'd like to display your store name or site name in search results instead of your domain URL.
Our Yoast SEO for Shopify app provides settings that allow you to customize your site name and an alternate website name, which can then be shown in search results.
To get your site name to show in search results, you can follow these steps:
Set the Site Name in Shopify: Go to Settings -> General -> Store Details and enter your desired site name.
Configure Yoast SEO Plugin: If you are using the Yoast SEO plugin, navigate to Shopify -> Yoast SEO -> Settings -> Schema -> Representation -> Website name and set your site name/store name there as well. This will ensure that the structured data code outputs the correct name for the WebSite.
Alternate Website Name: You can also set an alternate website name in the "Alternate website name" field within the Yoast SEO settings if you want a shorter or different version of your site name to appear.
When you fill the data in, Yoast SEO will combine all the information about your site and tell search engines what your website is about. As a result, your site may get featured in a Google knowledge panel and increase your visibility in the search results.
So fill in your website info, organization info, logo, and social profiles, and you’re all set.
You can read more about it here: First things to do after installing Yoast SEO for Shopify.
Wait for Google to Update: After making these changes, it may take some time for Google to update its search results to reflect your site name instead of the URL. Be patient, as this process can take a while.
For more detailed guidance, you can refer to this article on troubleshooting site names in Google search results.
I’m excited to let you know that the Yoast SEO App is now available on Shopify! This app can help you optimize your store’s SEO, improve its visibility and Rich Resuls. You can take advantage of a 14-day free trial to explore its features and see how it works for your store.
