I'm currently facing issue with attribution of google analytics and looking at ways to pull revenue of organic search, direct and referral traffic.
The current report of organic search includes CPC and direct some times has UTMs for ads. The requirement is to get this data in sheet for multiple accounts to understand the performance improvement.
Is their any way to pull this data in sheet or google data studio for automation of report?
In order to obtain the performance of organic, direct and referral traffic based on revenue including cpc with Google Analytics (GA4), the GA4 Data API should be used. The GA4 Data API will collect data based on sessionSource, sessionMedium, sessions, totalRevenue; it will omit cpc data. After that we can schedule automated exports to Google Sheets through Apps Script or Looker Studio.
For multiple accounts, loop Property IDs in the script or add separate data sources in Looker Studio, ensuring proper UTM tagging to fix attribution issues like CPC in organic or UTMs in direct.
Make sure you validate the information by checking it with GA4’s Traffic Acquisition report for accuracy.
