How can I further categorize the products on my site to create a better user experience? Are there recommended plugins through Shopify?

You'd need to provide more details on how you're trying to categorize your products. It would also help to have a link to your site (to see how you're currently categorizing them), as well as knowing which theme you're using (to be better able to make recommendations, if your theme has the ability to do more than you're currently doing).

With that said, Product Filters apps (https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=product%20filters) can help with making your collection pages easier to navigate.

Also, setting up multi-level navigation menus can help (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/menus-and-links/drop-down-menus).

Hi @EarthTribeShop

Could you give me the URL of your shop? I want to see how you're currently categorizing your products so I can give you the most relevant recommendations/app suggestions.

Hi @EarthTribeShop

I just had a look at your store. I see that you have 9 different categories- which I think is a little bit too many.

Psychologically speaking, if your customers are presented with too many options, they might not choose any option at all. So, optimally, your store should have a maximum of 6 top-level collections and use sub-collections for each top collection.

Based on your products, you can group them into the following categories:

  1. Apparel- Tops, Pants, Skirts, Accessory
  2. Skincare
  3. Decor- Daily decor, Holiday decor
  4. Pet supplies

To create a sub-collection on Shopify, refer to this guide: https://tiny-img.com/blog/sub-collections-shopify/

Then, you can improve your customer navigation experience by adding a Product & Filter app. Personally, I recommend Boost AI Search & Filter and Searchanise Search & Filter

I hope that this helps!
